Always one of my favorites! It hangs at my desk. A true creative genius - especially during his psychotic time.

I was challenged by my awesome friend and artist Heather Torres Art to participate in the Facebook Art Challenge. I'm pretty sure this is her way of saying you need to paint soon! haha. So here it is... day 1 (let's hope I remember to do all 5.)
It's hard to believe it's been 2 1/2 years since I got to paint the traffic signal box in College Park. I am proud to say it's still there! No one has painted it over yet. This was such a fun project from start to finish. We had to pr...ep the box, prime it, base coat THEN I finally got to paint. The theme of all the boxes was flowers... so this was my interpretation. If you ever want to see it you can drive by the Tijuana Flats in College Park. Pretty cool when I stop to think about my public art!
Oh - if anyone wants to stop and wash it when they drive by, feel free! After years in the elements the colors have really faded.
Hi everyone! I'm still painting (although not as much as I want to!) but in the meantime I thought I'd share with you a new passion of mine... I'm now selling fair trade handcrafted items from artisans around the world. Please feel free to like the Kathryn Stuart - Trades of Hope page and help me change the world!
Starting tonight I my skateboard "Enjoy the Ride" will be CityArts Factory for the next month. There are over 200 skateboards, surfboards, wakeboards, snowboards that have been turned into art - and other work that celebrates the lifestyle. Check it out!
Here's a better picture of my piece that will be featured in the Picturing Main Street show - it opens Thursday night at CityArts Factory.
