We had a fantastic time joining the 2018 Canyon Belgian Waffle Ride this last Sunday in and around San Marcos, California. This is so much more than a simple race – it’s a road race, a gravel grinder, a parade, a celebration of cycling, and a waffle-fest. We highly recommend BWR to any cyclist looking for an adventure – it gets better each year, and next year will be no exception. Highlights for us: seeing cycling friends from all over the country; living on waffles, coffee, ...and Asend; tough climbs with cool names (like the Dubbleberg Twistenweg); and pedal-pedal-pedal!
Big thank you to the BWR organizers - they really put an incredible effort into making this a great experience for all the riders - and it shows! Also thanks to SRAM neutral support and Velofix for keeping our rides going; we definitely had our share of mechanical issues – but it’s all part of the adventure, right?
A quick shout out to two of our sponsors that are critical for these events – asend NUTRITION – getting through these epic events would not be possible without proper hydration. With proven electrolytes, all-natural ingredients, and the taste of real fruit – we gladly drink Asend all day. Also thanks to Doc's Skincare for chamois cream with natural ingredients like Tea Tree oil – definitely allows us to enjoy the extended chamois time!
Moogy sprinted for the win at the Michelob ULTRA Sequoia Classic in Visalia, California yesterday! Big thank you to the organizers for a fantastic event.
One woman squad at the San Dimas Stage Race! This weekend Hanna took on another early season stage race, this time as a solo rider. Hanna took 2nd in the Stage 2 Road Race putting her in the green sprinters jersey for the Stage 3 Criterium. Hanna finish 2nd overall in the sprint points competition. Congrats to Jasmine Duehring (Twenty20) on winning the overall GC and the points competition.

Our junior phenom, Katie Clouse, is flying to Europe for a block of racing with #TeamUSA. She is scheduled to race the one-day classic Gent Wevelgem (Flanders, 25 March) and the Healthy Ageing Tour stage race (Netherlands, 6-8 April). Thanks to USA Cycling for putting this trip together and fostering the future talent! Wish #KTC GOOD LUCK!
Another Chico Stage Race is in the books - big thank you to the local organizers for putting on another fantastic event. With 4 stages in 3 days, including an epic 90mile road race with a gravel sector, this is one of our favorite early-season races. We had a very small squad of two riders - but they rode like a full team. Hanna placed 3rd in the Road Race and 5th in the final GC. Alie, a new rider in the pro field, took this opportunity to learn the ropes of racing at the to...p level. Even with a flat and tough chase in the road race, she took on the event with determination and positivity. Thank you to our sponsors for continuing to support us as we continue the adventure!
Last Saturday we had the pleasure of riding with the folks from asend NUTRITION and DNACycling on the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands - one of the most beautiful places on earth! It was a challenge taking on the 100mile mountain bike trail in one go - but we were able to finish in about 10 hours with lots of Asend hydration, Doc's chamois cream, and comfortable DNA kits!

It's just a little over 2 weeks until the Chico Stage Race in Northern California! 4 stages in 3 days that include a circuit at the Thunderhill Raceway, the classic 90 mile road race with a gravel sector, and a quick criterium in downtown Chico. We're stoked to return to this early season classic!

Smash and Sox took on the diabolical Rock Cobbler this past weekend in Bakersfield, CA. This one of a kind event put on by SamBarn Promotions featured 83miles of oil drilling rig fields, majestic switchback climbs, plenty of dusty fire roads, a quick jaunt through some awesome woman’s living room and so much sweet single track our riders thought they had died and gone to heaven… or was it hell? Two thirds of the way into the ride was a 200meter hill that was so steep it took ...them 20minutes to scale it while lugging their bikes behind them. Fortunately there was a kiddie pool at the top and pickle juice, not to be confused as a pool of pickle juice. The next and final section of deep sand almost finished Smash but with Sox’s help they rallied and crossed the finish line with their new mustached friends from Vegas. At the end of this long, difficult and fun day our DNA Cycling Team riders were proud to put away their bikes and happy to celebrate the completion of their first gravel event of the year. Macaroni cheese with bacon, pulled pork and TWINKIES set the tone of the after party where everyone hung out and told their battle stories. The course and terrain were unique for the Rock Cobbler but the camaraderie and personality are what really set it apart. Smash and Sox are looking forward to participating in this ride again.

Our athlete ambassador keeps inspiring - she is a mom, paralympian, and now a SI swimsuit model. Click on the interview to hear about Brenna's experience modeling as an amputee - "I want to help change the stigma behind disabilities. I want other women, regardless of their body, to know they are powerful and sexy."
Almost 2 years ago Lauren had a horrific accident resulting in a traumatic brain injury. It's been a long, tough road of critical care, rehabilitation, and recovery - but she has made incredible progress with the help of family, friends, and fans - many of you who followed here and donated to her gofundme. Lauren is now in graduate school targeting a Masters in Public Health while still managing to get out and ride her bike. Today she finished on the top step of the podium at the 100km Old Man Winter Rally in Lyons Colorado! #canwecallitacomeback
