About Kalp
  • Kingfisher Adult Learning Programs Inc (KALP) is a small not for profit organisation based on Brisbane's northside.

KALP's team of dedicated staff and volunteers care for approximately thirty young adults with mild to severe disabilities Monday to Friday, forty-eight weeks of the year.

2012 has been a challenging year for KALP. In early September the organisation’s Tarago van was stolen and written off.

The very next week, our fundraising canteen was broken into, all the stock stolen and the canteen damaged beyond repair.

Despite these hardships, the organisation has pulled together and decided to launch a fundraising initiative that celebrates the talents of KALP participants.

KALP’s weekly program offers great opportunity and diversity for participants to experience all the activities that you and I take for granted.

One of the participants favourite programs is the Art program.

This year KALP participants have been preparing work for their very first Art Show, Kaleidoscope KALP.

Kaleidoscope KALP will be held on Saturday 10th November from 6pm, at KALP’s premises, 46 Dellaware Street, Geebung.

Along with the art work created by the participants the initiative has also secured donations from professional artists including David Weir, Kate Oudenryn, Debra Tyro-Burns and C Barnes.

To make this event a success, we are asking for your help. There are a number of ways you can support this initiative:
    • Purchase tickets to attend the art show
    • Donate a prize for the lucky door prize draws
    • Pre-purchase art work via this facebook page.
    • Sponsor the event.

By becoming an event sponsor, your business will be promoted in Kaleidoscope KALP promotional material including the art program.

You will also be supporting a vital service for young adults with an intellectual disability.

If you are unable to attend the Art Show but would like to support KALP, please visit our web page

for a direct link to our Give Now appeal page.

KALP is a registered charity and deductible gift recipient, all donations, ticket and art purchases are considered donations, and all donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Please contact us to discuss Kaleidoscope KALP or any of the services provided by KALP.

We are truly grateful for any support received and we look forward to hearing from you soon and seeing you at Kaleidoscope KALP on November 10th 2012.
