My 2018 New Years resolution is to post more of my work on this page.
I made this Couture Christmas Tree Dress earlier this month for 1919 Investments, displayed at Lord Baltimore Hotel.
Birds of Devotion...
A classic silhouette with strapless bodice is adorned with a shoulder bow accent. The birds represent both the spirit of the season. Bluebirds are a symbol of happiness, new birth, hearth and home. Cardinals symbolize passion and commitment, as even in the cold of winter they do not migrate away.
It is made out of real tree branches, Christmas ribbon, and ornaments.
When you make your bride’s vision become a reality. Rework: straight to sweetheart neckline, strapless/sleeveless to detachable lace/mesh sleeve, hidden split to pronounced split, 3/4” taken in from bodice.
Congrats to my beautiful December bride!
Inspiration: Champagne Powder
I love waking up to see snow reflecting and glistening through frosted windows, and how everything seems to have come to a standstill. This creation was inspired by untouched snow, specifically champagne powder -- airy and smooth. The term is derived from sparkling wine champagne, which is conveyed using champagne-colored ornaments throughout.
The top of the dress represents the champagne powder, where the snow is light, fluffy, glistening. As t...he snow continues to fall and get heavier, the ground and trees become enveloped. The ornaments on the bottom of the dress reflect the final outcome of this snowfall. The under layer, created with freshly trimmed pine tree branches, are enveloped in a fluff of glistening champagne powder.
You can see this Couture Tree with 17 other creative and beautiful tress at Lord Baltimore Hotel.
Congrats to my beautiful bride who married her best friend this month. She came to me with a dress that was 6 sizes too large! Now she's wearing the dress, not the other way around!
*To future brides, always buy a gown that is the closest size larger than you, so you don't spend lots of money on alterations.*
