I tell my clients that getting proper rest is often a missing ingredient to their fitness success. Here the science!
It might seem hard to make healthy choices everyday but they are possible!
I had 10 min before I had to jet out the door again, and pretty convinced that I'd have to pick up food from somewhere this afternoon, I took a breath and quickly cut up the already made chicken in the fridge and made a quick spinach and kale salad with walnuts and craisins. I put a scoop of chocolate protein powder in a mug and cut up some peaches to go with blueberries and rice cakes with almond butter. Pretty sure I just saved myself about $15 bucks today!
“We’re gonna have a good time tonight. Let’s celebrate. It’s all right.”
I think Kool and the Gang said it best when they gave people permission to celebrate.
Sounds dumb for people to need permission to have fun, but personally I find this difficult at times.
With the holidays fast approaching it's tempting to go into "hibernation mode" and lose our motivation for staying healthy. This season set a goal, something you can accomplish in a month, to help keep yourself accountable. For Thanksgiving this year I am running Austin's Turkey Trot for the first time! It's a challenge for me, but the meal afterwards will be well worth it. Find your motivation and let me know what it is so I can cheer you on. I invite anyone in the Austin area Thanksgiving Day to join me for the Turkey Trot. You can register at http://thundercloud.com/index.php/register
