Check out the latest update on the flooding...
Update from Fire Chief Craig Wright:
A Unified Command Post has been established to assist in managing the flooding event. It will have limited staffing overni...ght. Additional rounds of moderate to heavy rain is expected from Saturday night through early Sunday morning. There is a risk of isolated flash flooding, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado. The main storm is expected from 11:00 pm Saturday to 4:00 am Sunday.
The Ohio River is forecasted to crest at 60 feet on Monday 2/26. This is a prediction and can change depending on weather conditions. We are hopeful the levels remain under what was previously expected.
An emergency shelter location has been established at the New Richmond High School, 1131 Bethel-New Richmond Road. This shelter is available to any impacted resident in Pierce or Ohio Township as well as those impacted in our neighboring communities.
Tri-State CART has established a pet shelter at the First Baptist Church of New Richmond located at 1168 Bethel-New Richmond Road. This shelter is also available to those impacted who need temporary housing for pets.
Those interested in volunteer opportunities or to make donations can contact 513-735-8500 to leave a message with contact information.
Check out Pierce Township's Facebook page for flooding updates. Our Fire Chief, Craig Wright, and his team have done an absolutely outstanding job staying on top of this situation. They've been working tirelessly on preparation efforts and have been in tune with this volatile situation every step of the way! Thank You!!!
We had a GREAT work session Wednesday evening to discuss our 2018 priorities! We got a lot of valuable input from residents, and I'm more that excited about getting to work. Once we fine-tune our priorities a little more, we'll be having a follow-up meeting. I'll have another post with the date and time once we've sent an official notice for that meeting.
We will be holding a Special Work Session Meeting on Wednesday (Jan 17th) at 5:30pm to discuss our 2018 priorities for the township. There will be opportunity for comment & feedback, so I would encourage anyone who can make it to attend and be part of this process.
For anyone interested, here is a link to the agenda for tonight's trustee meeting (Wednesday, 1/10 @ 6:30p).
Just wanted to let everyone know that my first official Trustee meeting will be January 10th starting at 6:30pm at the Township building on Locust Corner. The vote totals showed our message was well supported and I think it's important to show we're ready to help continue pushing the township in a positive direction. I would love to see as many of you there as possible.

I'm having a victory celebration at Laszlo's Iron Skillet this Friday (11/17) starting at 4:30pm. All are welcome to stop in and help celebrate this team effort! I plan on staying until at least 7:00 or whenever the party breaks up. I have the upstairs room reserved, and there will be a server up there for drinks, apps or whatever you want to order. I hope to see you there!
We live in the land of opportunity. We live in the land of freedom. We live in the land of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It's been your sacrifices that have allowed me the freedom to campaign and voice my opinions without fear of persecution. Thank you.
