"Gender roles... that's just gotta go." I love this man's approach to promoting and normalizing caregiving across genders.

My admiration goes to #JadeHameister for her stunning record-breaker as the youngest person ever to pull off the #PolarHatTrick and also especially for her ability to deflect insults against her gender with clever and sweet humor! #genderequity

She posted a photo of her holding a plate with a ham and cheese sandwich. "I made you a sandwich ... now ski 37 days and 600 km to the South Pole and you can eat it."

Our media debut! This is really about the Kim Center rather than me, so I hope you enjoy learning more about our vision.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hei-ock Kim. Hei-ock, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far. When I was 12 years old, I taught my first piano lesson and realized that I was empowered with a voice that could make …

Here's something to think about in addition to the Women's March on the 20th.

In keeping with January being Human Trafficking Prevention month, Aliza Amar has created an art installation consisting of people and shoes - each shoe represents a child who has been trafficked. Children will lead the march.

The Kim Center wishes strength, courage, and any possible measure of peace to all who suffer because of people who fail as evolved human beings.

Our deepest and most humble thanks to those who are speaking out in order to stop the destruction.

I really like this montage. Women and girls are constantly judged over their appearance, and females of color are particularly vulnerable. I think this is a fun way to celebrate them!

We are all full of natural beauty, we just need to bring it out. Regis and Kahran, a husband and wife team behind CreativeSoul did just that, only for young black ladies. Focusing on their hair, the duo created Afro Art, a series of gorgeous portraits that has cast a spell on everyone's eyes.

I'm glad to live in an age where girls are celebrated for being strong, athletic, and making your jaw drop. Let it always be so.

The Kim Center is striving for workplace gender equity so girls can grow into women who live this belief EVERY day.

Today, I'm proud to celebrate the United Nation's "International Day of the Girl Child".

The potential for equity begins early in life. As the United Nations eloquently states, "An investment in realising the power of adolescent girls upholds their rights today and promises a more equitable and prosperous future."

http://www.un.org/en/events/girlchild/background.shtml

On December 19, 2011, United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 66/170 to declare October 11 as the International Day of the Girl Child, to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world.

“She showed me that even though I’m a small girl in Brooklyn I can make history, I can change the world. I will succeed.”

Like her student, I am inspired by Bowen's use of her personal experience to create an empowering atmosphere for her Excellence Girls by embracing the values of curiosity, love, sisterhood, justice, respect, courage, hope, and optimism.

I love making stuff out of wood and was once volunteering to help build a community garden. When I picked up a drill, a guy tried to tell me how to use it. He meant well and totally backed off when it was clear I knew what I was doing, but it made me sad....Here's a shout-out to A Workshop of Our Own in Baltimore. What a wonderful way to engage new deserving people in a field traditionally dominated by men.
