Even though "black public school students are suspended at 3.8x the rate of white students," DeVos refused to acknowledge it.

Stop blaming black kids for a racist school system.

She keeps finding new ways to fail our kids.

"Despite the racialized-gendered, class and cisnormative biases, stigmas and assumptions that attempt to invisibilize violence against Black women at HBCUs, students and survivors alike are speaking up and politically mobilizing to break academic, administrative and societal suppression on these issues."

The clock has run out on sexual assault, harassment and inequality at historically black colleges and universities.
Delivering 100,000 petitions to Betsy demanding the Dept of Ed stand with survivors and uphold Title IX guidance! #IneedIX
We're reading students' stories aloud this morning in front of the Department of Education to educate Secretary Betsy DeVos and the Department about the real human impact of their devastating policies, the importance of robust Title IX protections for all students, and to make clear that we will not be silent as our peers are harassed, raped, and pushed out of school. #DearBetsy listen to survivors.
#DearBetsy: "After I was sexually assaulted on campus, I was only able to stay due to Title IX accommodations. And I am excited to say that I will be graduating in five days." Support survivors. Join the conversation at Sign the petition at

Title IX regulations in higher education, though well intentioned, create more victims than they help. They give one party the power to ruin the life of another party regardless of the facts while sur...vivors go unsupported.

Countless lawsuits are proving this to be the case on nearly a daily basis.
