  • When You Know Who Jesus Is Everything Changes Taking up our cross h...as never been easy and it certainly is no easier today – especially in lands where church buildings are being burned down, and where people are arrested and imprisoned, simply because they believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. We seem to use too many words at times today, but that may be necessary, because people have their own idea and ideas of Jesus Christ, and we must never move from the revelation given us in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. In Mark Chapter 8, Jesus is speaking about suffering, rejection, being killed, and rising from the dead, making everything very clear and plain. Jesus goes on to speak to his disciples about following Him and taking up your cross and denying self. Mark Chapter 8 verse 34. (That was among the first passages I preached on, away back in July 1964.) I have never seen a queue when Jesus Christ is handing out crosses! We have to face up to and deal with shame. We will be ridiculed – and laughed at – we will be in a minority – and we will have to speak out on matters that go against the flow of the culture. “I am not ashamed to own my Lord – or to defend His cause.” It is easier to sing than fulfil physically. If you follow ME – the road lies through Calvary. We see in verse 38 Jesus’ view of society. It was adulterous and sinful then and it is adulterous and sinful today. Some things have not changed – and neither has the grace and mercy and forgiveness and love of Jesus Christ. You will see Jesus coming in glory one day – that is some incentive. That is a mighty motivation. You will see the Kingdom of God come in power – and that began on the Day of Pentecost. This should help us to face the struggle and the battle we face now. The whole scenario in the Gospel of Mark has suddenly changed. There is a different focus – a different emphasis – the cross – the resurrection – the ascension – the outpouring of the Holy Spirit – follows this pivotal passage. The major change takes place after Peter announces that Jesus is the Christ. (This week's "Word from Scotland" - previous articles may be found at Studylight.org and liveasif.org in the 'Archives' section - warmest greetings in Christ Jesus.) See More
  • I was sad to hear that the graduation photos were not able to be pos...ted due to some kind of technical issues but was very happy to see that the entire video was made available to us. I took it upon myself (I hope this was ok) to take still snapshots from the video and post them here. The quality of the photos are not very good due to the fact that they are taken from a moving video but hope you enjoy them. Thanks Knox for a great graduation celebration. https://www.facebook.com/james.chaisson.12/media_set?set=a.625513664268348.1073741862.100004291592784&type=3 See More

I'm studying online from Canada. Great program, great flexibility. Quality education unique to the area. I love how Scripture is taught in a more narrative, Bib...lical theology, canonical approach rather than just systematic theology. Study of church history was fantastic, understand the narrative and wrestling with original primary sources. Great choice of electives, including the fantastic inter-testament history and literature courses. Christian and Classical program is fantastic in showing how Christians can understand the world better through these texts, how they can be better understood with the Christian perspective, and how they reveal the worldviews around us in strength and weakness. It helps to expand the depth of your worldview and develop your soul. Great online community, great support from faculty. See More

Excellent distance learning program. High academic standards and all classes are taught through a redemptive, cross drenched lense. While the program is flexibl...e as to when you do the work, you track with the school, so all your work is due Sundays by 11:59pm, thus you're not left in cyberspace. Class forums engage conversation and profs have a 24hr response time to your emails. As a distance student you have all the support you need. The MABTS is a ton of work - and has been worth every hour I invested into it. See More
