The Displaced Kitchen #eatkomeeda series is a campaign aimed to bring together a collective of people to hear a perspective of a recently resettled refugee. We will feature three different refugees to share their story with us by ways of an unorthodox Ramadan iftar dinner (breaking of the fast). Our "Chef-ugee" hosts left various conflict zones for safety, and have resettled here in New York City. All of whom experienced hardship to survive, and hardship acclimating into our society, the Displaced Kitchens is aimed to bridge the gap through food by providing them an outlet to share their journey, and their cuisine with our Kommunity.

The Displaced Dinners series is a collection of dinners hosted by a recently arrived refugee who will share their story and their food with you. On Friday April 28th, our host will be Lutfi, a Syrian refugee who fled his native land and finally found refuge in the U.S. three months ago. Join our Kommunity, hear his story, engage in dialogue with a refugee, and enjoy an authenitc Syrian dinner cooked by Lutfi.
This is a BYOB dinner, your RSVP includes a six dish dinner, tax & tip! Half of the proceeds from the experience will benefit the refugee's resettling efforts.
