ALL THE KOREANS IN THE NORTH, THE SOUTH AND ABROAD
The division of Korea between North and South at the end of WWII had no historical nor geographical grounds. It was decided by USA and USSR along a arbitrary border drawn by two young American officers. The division was supposed to be temporary. Both North ad South have ministries of Reunification and both countries, at least in theory, aspire to return to be one.

THE HISTORIC WORLD CUP – THE MOST MIRACOLOUS EVENT
In the 1966 football World Cup played in England, Italy was one of the favorite teams for the final victory. On July 19 it needed only a tie against North Korea to pass to the quarter finals. Absolutely nobody thought that Italy could lose. Instead it did, 1-0, in what it is the greatest upset in the history of the World Cup. In Italy “Korea” is still synonymous of a terrible defeat, like Waterloo. In North Korea the event was and is considered an heroic feat. The match is the subject of the excellent 2002 English docu-film “The Game of Their Lives”, partly shot in North Korea, and of several oil paintings made by Mansudae Art Studio artists in 1966.
