The City of League City City has begun inventory efforts, mitigation and preventative studies to identify potential enhancements to our drainage codes and standards to prevent flooding. Staff has been working with LJA Engineering Inc., a civil engineering group with expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic assessment and design. The group is assisting the City in developing both mitigation and preventative plans. City staff has set a community meeting with the residents of Oaks of Clear Creek, the engineering consultant, and staff to present the draft study, receive input, and have an open discussion.

The City was advised yesterday via social media post of a problem at the intersection of FM 518 and Palomino concerning cracks and failures on one of the handicap ramps adjacent to a pedestrian crosswalk and a nearby section of sidewalk. City Public Works employees addressed the issue this morning and will remove and replace the existing ramp beginning today. We expect to have the newly poured ramp useable for pedestrian traffic by the close of business Friday, March 9th. ...The sidewalk project will be placed on our list for repair and will be prioritized on the city-wide sidewalk repair schedule. Ryan Smith, a Director for the City, wanted to reinforce that we are committed to responding to the needs of our citizens. He encourages all citizens and business owners to report issues using 311. If you report an issue and are not satisfied with the City’s response, please contact a member of City Administration at 281-554-1026 . Your City Staff is committed to world class customer service.
