We had our wedding breakfast and reception at lea Marston on Friday 22nd December and all we can say is wow! From the minute we arrived the day before to the second we left the day after everything wa...s amazing.. The staff could not do enough for us... from gemma greeting us in the carpark to help with our stuff to the amazing reception staff..housekeepers and of course jack who looked after us on our big day. Everything was spot on and nothing was too much trouble. We had quite a lot of guests staying and all of them commented on how fab everyone one. The food was spot on ... The rooms were perfect .. cleanliness couldn't have been any better and they made our day everything we wanted and more. Thank u everyone at lea Marston . U r a great team and work amazingly together ! We wish we could do it all again xxx Kayleigh and stuart Capaldi xxx See More

After a number of Spa days, meals and a visit to a wedding fair at the Lea Martson we finally held our wedding here last week. To put it simply we love the place. We booked the osborn suite for two ni...ghts, 1 word 'wow'. The staff in all areas are friendly and offer great customer service from the Spa ladies, to reception and bar staff and management. Nothing is too much trouble. Shout out to Sam our event coordinator and Dan the man who was our wedding assigned manager, both did everything we asked and more. We had a perfect day and night. All our guests had a great time. The hotel really know how to make a Bride feel special. Thank you so much Lea Marston - you will always be our special place...i already have another spa day booked for later this year to come back. See More

Just been here for afternoon tea for Mother’s Day & it was ridiculous. We waited an hour & a half for our teas to arrive. The poor waiters deserve a medal, they listened to all the complaints from the... other guests and were still serving with a smile. Definitely won’t return in a hurry again. This was meant to be a Mother’s Day gift to my mum and grandma and also to help a local charity raise money. I was that embarrassed by it we had our food and just left. I don’t think We’re the only ones visiting that day that was unimpressed, as even guests visiting the spa was also complaining about slow service for food & drinks!! See More

Stayed with my daughter this week and absolutely loved it. Afternoon tea was lovely and the evening meal was exceptional. The staff couldn't have been any more helpful and made my daughter's stay so s...pecial. We used the spa and pool and couldn't fault anything. The only thing we found let things down slightly was the breakfast. The cooked breakfast was self serve so some of the food was overdone by the time we sat down to eat. See More

My wife thoughtfully booked us dinner and a room here for my birthday. It was all going swimmingly until we took to the bar for lunch. A manager type was conducting a very loud 'look at me' meetin...g with one of the staff. This was bad enough (think of the man on the train with his mobile) but staff members began bantering with him from the bar area to his corner of the room.

It all came to a head when he chose to whisper just loud enough for us to hear 20 yard away at our table his crude and offensive f'in and b'in to the lady he was with.

When I broached him about it - there was an air of incredulity that I was offended and no apology.

Another guest thanked me for attempting to stop his boorish behaviour but he carried on in the same loud vein as before until I attracted the bar manager who attempted to resolve the situation. Which, to be fair, did stop - until he received another call to his mobile and we were all treated to his loud obnoxious behaviour again.

It was this point I decided to call The Albrighton Hotel in Shrewsbury to make a reservation and cancel my wife's birthday gift that had meant to be a winter respite from our very busy work schedule.

The one star was earned by reception staff who were horrified to hear of why we were cancelling and who were very helpful in retrieving our luggage.

Life is too short of quality time to risk having those special days spoilt by people like this. We won't be going back.

Awful from start to finish! We had booked the spa package for 8 guests as a relaxing last day before my sisters wedding. This included: early check-in, 2 course lunch, 30 min spa treatment and use of ...the spa facilities, 2 course dinner and breakfast. The booking was made approx 6 months in advance. We had also arranged for our 3 young daughters to stay the night with us so they were able to get ready for the wedding with the rest of the bridal party.

* Rooms weren’t ready, despite paying extra for early check-in.
* Allocated rooms were split over two floors and spread across the hotel.
* Lunch was extremely slow and staff were very inattentive despite the restaurant being empty.
* Children were running around the spa pool, jumping and diving in and playing in and around the steam room.
* It took 45 minutes to be given dinner menus in the empty restaurant.
* Dinner was merely an extension of the lunch menu, where the second vegetarian option was unavailable.
* It took a further 45 minutes for any food to arrive.
* Staff were, again, inattentive and unapologetic (barring one server - Megan - who took time out to listen to our numerous complaints).
* The delays meant pushing back our plans to have our very young children with us the night before the wedding to 10pm. Staff were aware of these plans several months in advance and were made aware during the delays but no effort was made to resolve the issues.
* The duty manager eventually came to apologise for the unnecessary stress caused throughout the "relaxing spa day" and assured us that a discount would be applied for the shambolic dinner service.
* To add insult to injury, halfway through hair and makeup and needing to get across to the wedding venue we went to check out only to find that instead of the promised discount £50 of extra charges were outstanding on our bill. Reception staff had no idea why and said they would need a duty manager to come and check the bill, but made no attempt to find one and showed no sense of urgency. The matter remains unresolved.
* To top off a truly dreadful stay, half of the bridal party ended up with mild food poisoning from the cooked breakfast!
Thankfully the bride was too nervous to eat hers!!!

I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel was nice but the service was terrible. We were there for a wedding and the bars were understaffed, sometimes the staff just disappeared altogether.
At breakfast we were shown to a table and... told to help ourselves to the buffet. Nobody mentioned that they would serve the drinks, in fact in half an hour nobody asked what drinks we wanted nor anybody else in our area either. When i finally found a member of staff to ask, it came out luke warm and we'd finished our breakfast by then. That wasn't very well cooked either. I wouldn't stay there again. See More

Leisure facilities were excellent, really relaxing to sit by the pool/hot tub. Really enjoyed breakfast...the sausages were amazing. Disappointed with the room, having paid extra and booked a suite I ...was expecting something a bit more luxury but we were given 'The Royal' suite and felt it was old and outdated (apart from the bathroom which was ultra modern and completely did not match with the rest of the suite), stains on the carpet, shelf in the cupboard in the living area was broken, it seemed like everytime we left the room all of the electrics turned off (including the fridge so our drinks were warm by the time we got back), couldn't seem to get the heating working... we could hear the sound of the radiators come on but zero heat came out. Overall, I probably would stay at the hotel again but I wouldn't book a suite unless I could see pictures of the exact suite I was's quite difficult to find good pictures of the suites on your website/facebook page...they're mainly just snippets of cushions or a headboard etc (the ones that I could find anyway!) Last weekend had booked a birthday sparkling afternoon tea for 3, although can’t fault food or service was really disappointed with the room it was served in.
The room had no atmosphere and looked ver...y plain and dated almost like the room was an after thought. Moved on to the bar which felt much more welcoming.
Very disappointed after having high expectations from attending by my sons wedding there in August which was fantastic

Lovely hotel. Staff were excellent and really helpful. I have a food allergy and the manager made sure my food was cooked in separate fryers etc you don’t always get this level of customer service and... it was nice to be able to have what I fancied instead of being limited. The same happened in the morning at breakfast.

The pool etc was lovely, but very busy but it was a weekend so to be expected I suppose.

Room was nice, we had an exec room and had everything you’d expect.

Overall a nice stay and would recommend

Me and my Husband just this Saturday had our wedding reception here. Honestly it was amazing highley recommend them. The staff were brilliant and went the extra mile.

Special thanks to Teresa who ask...s the girls in nail salon to fix my nail situation. I'm so sorry I've forgotten the girls name but she did a grand job it was better than before. Gemma who organised everything for the big day. I think the shefs name was Oli sorry if I got this wrong the food was amazing. The waiting staff who were running around like crazy and almost tripped on the chair bows sorry about that. And Dan who was so wonderful he came up to me at the end of the night with his car keys in hand ready to go home. He asked if everything was ok I said to him 'it was perfect but I'm starving' (which was my own fault I was talking all night) he asked asked me if I want a sandwich I said no go home. He went back in to the kitchen and made me some salad and sandwich it was tasty.

So to everyone at Lea Marston thankyou sooooo much for making our day PERFECT
(Hope you all enjoyed the favours)
