The town took charge of hosting the leap year birthday celebration this year. And with the support of council, Mayor Lerma and I alongside the Emajj team. Organ...ized and planned a wonderful weekend celebration for all our visitors to showcase not only our community, but our region as a whole. I volunteered to chaperone our group on behalf of our town and I took them to all our scheduled stops and even winged it when we didn't have anything else planned. Lol. We went and had tours of the plaza theater, took a stroll to southwest university and a tour at UTEP and the La Fe center. We got to see some Bhutanese culture, El Paso history, and an awesome college. We hiked dripping springs, took plenty of photos and also got to see a spectacular view on the tramway in El Paso. They danced the night away at a local winery while listening to the sounds of local music, we had tapas and some vino courtesy of Sombra Antigua winery and Chef Rulis, they got to visit Ode brewery and were the guest of honor in our local parade and we were supplied with enough pizza to fill our stomachs for days courtesy of Pizza Hut lol. We had night caps, laughter and created tons of new and fantastic memories. Our guests had an amazing time and are definitely looking forward to coming back and celebrating their special day in our special little corner of Texas. Anthony, Tx.
Special thanks go out to Emajj, Chef Rulis, the Women's Intercultural center, the Anthony Chamber of Commerce, the Rose Garden, Ernesto's, the Best Western, the Great American, everyone at UTEP, the Plaza Theater, Southwest University Park, La Fe, the Museum of Art, Anthony Police Dept, and the Town Maintenance Crew, and Mary Ann Brown. She believed in what this event could become and with the help of everyone. We turned the eyes of the world to Anthony for an entire weekend. We spoke to stations and journalist from all over the world in regards to this event, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Spain, Canada, and tons of news stations from cities all across the U.S. Thank you all for your help and support.
