I'm at the 7th International Conference on Ageing and Spirituality. Lots of people stopped by my poster session to discuss cooperative living in Lexington, KY. See www.legacyhomeministry.org.

The Legacy Home is on Delaware. We knew that one day soon we'd be on a very cool street where people would like to live.

This is why we created The Legacy Home.

An elder orphan has no adult children, spouse or companion to rely on for company, assistance or input. More than 13 million Americans fit this description — and more than 9 million of them are women. (From Next Avenue)

Why we need more support and services for those without children or spouses, to help them manage their challenges as they age.

Friends....The Legacy Home (www.legacyhomeministry.org) is expecting a new resident soon. She is arriving with nothing but her personal items. She needs a bed (twin or double), a chest of drawers, a nightstand, and lamp. If you can help, please e-mail me at echurlburt@gmail.com

The Legacy Home is an answer to this. Share resources go a long way!

You may recognize these women hiding in plain sight, trying to keep up with friends and still pay the bills.

The Legacy Home has a vacancy. We are designed for up to 5 women, of modest incomes, 55 years and older, to live together so that they may share rent and other ...expenses to minimize the cost of growing older. It is an opportunity to stay in community and it is a wonderful new alternative to large apartment buildings or living alone. Our rent is one of the biggest bangs for the buck in town! Qualified residents pay $425/month which includes rent, all utilities, wi-fi, local phone, basic cable! The home is comfortable and allows for privacy as well as gathering as a group.

We currently have one large sunny bedroom available. Current residents are lovely women who are easy to get along with.

Please see our attached brochure and visit us at www.legacyhomeministry.org.

Thank you!

The Legacy Home is a VERY good alternative for women who cannot afford to live like this! See the posting below and then come to visit us.

Central Kentucky is seeing growth in housing options for seniors. Why? Because the population is aging, and the traditional two-story house with basement is trying on aging joints and flagging energy. But how many can afford it?

The Legacy Home was designed to serve women like the one in this article. The Legacy Home is cooperative living in which expenses are shared to minimize the cost of being and growing old.

Beginning this year, it said, her sewage rates would go up 17 percent, with 11...
