There's some really good science in this (unlike many diet plans), but 7-14 days of irritability? Yeah no. No can do.
New recipe! Egg-less meringue cookies made with aquafaba. Don't know what aquafaba is? Click through to find out!
Ooh, very cool event! Other Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams locations are participating as well; just check with your favorite to make sure.
It’s time to make the best of this snow situation!
New! Pineapple sweet potatoes, inspired by Nashville restaurant Jamaicaway Restaurant and Catering. Great alternative to sweet potato casserole for Christmas dinner (unless you ask Mini Eats, who disagrees).
The only thing I'd change about this list is to give props to Denny's kale salad, which is my current favorite salad to have at home (massaged kale topped with vanilla yogurt, Craisins, and vanilla almond granola).
If you're looking for a new side dish for Thanksgiving (or just a new way to actually enjoy brussels sprouts), I *highly* recommend this recipe from Herbivoracious. I made it Sunday night and it was fantastic. Make it vegan (as I did) by using olive oil instead of butter and agave nectar instead of honey. If you don't have champagne vinegar, apple cider or rice vinegar should work fine.
Many thanks to BuzzFeed for confirming that I don't need an air fryer. It's definitely this year's Instant Pot (the number of air fryer cookbooks is nuts), but it's not the versatile tool that the IP is and probably only good for people who 1) have room for another large kitchen gadget and 2) eat a lot of fried frozen food.
I finally finished the wrap-up of our big summer road trip. This installment is even lighter on food content since good vegetarian food was not easy to come by. But we did find at least one wonderful "oasis."
This is going to be a fantastic luncheon (with a vegetarian menu!).
I wonder if the current owners of my old house will read this and think, "oh, so that's the deal with that extra bin..." 😁
Metro now has two drop-off sites for kitchen scraps: "great news for anyone who wants to help the environment by reducing landfill waste and/or doesn’t want rotting food stinking up their garbage can."
Finally! Part 2 of our Wild West Road Trip is live on the blog. Narrowing hundreds of pictures down to just a few dozen is hard work!
Get the scoop on another Southern Indian restaurant coming to the area (and an update on the status of Woodlands Vegetarian Indian Cuisine).
Don't forget! Foodblogger bake sale to benefit the Houston Food Bank today from 12noon to 4 at TailGate Beer 7300 Charlotte Pike. I made *vegan* chocolate midnight cupcakes and *not-veg*n* s'mores brownies. Everything is just $2 each! Many goodies that are much more tempting than mine, too 😆.
Many of Nashville's best bakers are getting together to raise funds for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Come out and help yourself to help others. I'm planning to make some vegan chocolate cupcakes that are so good, you'd swear they were full of butter!
