From a 9th grade student after the first semester in Arrowsmith; “The BIG thing I see and my family and teachers see are my GRADES! That is a good thing for me... and my family to see and it just over all feels good. I never thought I could go to college or do as good as I am doing right now. A really big goal I have is to graduate with Honors and to be a lawyer. I really hope this program is around for when I have kids because I want them to experience what I am. I want to be able to look back and know, “I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Arrowsmith.” (This student went from a C to an A in Algebra after a semester in Arrowsmith!) Christ Presbyterian Academy
Our hearts are broken. There are no words to describe the immense tragedy that occurred in Parkland, Florida yesterday. Children, especially those with learning challenges, deal with stress and anxiety everyday. They should not have to also be worried about their safety while they are in school. Learning cannot occur if the brain is in constant flight or fight mode.
What can you do? Call or write your member of congress today and demand sensible gun legislation. Laws across states have to be consistent - and AR 15 rifles do not belong in the hands of a teenager.
