I went in for the Sunday chicken dinner. I called for reservations and felt like I was putting out the Hostess. After asking for reservations she didn’t not ask for our # in the party. She sated t...hat they do not have their full menu, It was “chicken night”. I said okay please make reservations for two. She stated “we have a limited menu”. I asked if their website was update along with their FB site. She stated yes, so I I reviewed it and asked again for a reservation. We finally got reservations....yay!

We finally arrived and the hostess was not impressive. I have asked my coworker to help me move or neighbor for a ride to airport and received more enthusiasm.

The wait staff was less impressive. They seamed disoriented. One person brought my water. Then another person came out for our order. She explained how dinner “worked” and the size portion of their menu items. I can read...but apparently I look or sound like I’m illiterate. It took her forever to “make” our drinks. (pear cider and beer). She finally came back and then took our order.

Someone else brought out our partial dinner. It seemed like our food sat because some of it was lukewarm/room temperature others items not so much. Big turn off. You’re wondering yeah it was cold but how did it taste???

First they brought out our sides.
The sweet potatoes looked like they were dumped out of a can and topped with mini marshmallows and some pecans outta a gas station bag and tasted like stuff from a cafeteria nightmare. The waffles were cool and gravy was cold. I really do think the gravy would have been good had it not cooled to the point of “pudding skin” top. The creamed corn was served hot and pretty good but not enough for me to go back or recommend this place. The Mac n cheese was also not bad but again nothing spectacular.

We finally received our chicken dinner by another person. Who tried to give it to another table. She seemed disoriented by who owned the chicken...it’s really odd as it’s not a place that holds 100s of tables. Also why would you pick up a basket and just meander around with it?!?!

We received three of our four pieces. (one was dropped). The chicken actually was not bad. The four piece included were a two boneless chicken breasts, a wing, and a leg with out the thigh portion.

The chicken may appear rare. FYI all the chicken is cooked to 165 white meat or 170 for dark meat. You can read more on their menu.

After painfully waiting for our final piece we left and I’m definitely not coming back. Hostess, wait staff, chefs, decor not that impressive. I may have gone on a bad day..please see other reviews (but I’m not returning).

Overall I give it two stars because; I did not get food poisoning and I’m 99.99% sure they did not spit in my food.

Amazing, artsy atmosphere with good music and decor. The service is great, and the food is incredible. I got the veggie tacos and they we're out of this world. Fun place for small parties and social o...utings. Btw the flourless chocolate torte is delicious.. such a nice rich dark chocolate that melts in your mouth. Great quality food! See More

I have come to regard Lily's as one of my favorite Dayton restaurants. I love the Sunday dinner side dishes (I'm vegetarian) or the brunch Hangover Cure (veg mushroom gravy). I see this place overall has a lot of good reviews. However my experience is in regards to John Gassett, the guy who was supposedly checking for ID'S at the door for hauntfest on 5th. Well he let some... high schoolers inside. And as for the bartender. I was not impressed with either of them. In fact, John attempted to steal my mug of beer while he was supposedly on the clock. Not impressed and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. By the way he got fired from the place across the street. Go figure. Try not to hire people like this guy. See More

My most recent experience was at a "pop-up" dinner benefiting the House of Bread yesterday, and I can honestly say that it was the best meal I've had in recent memory! It was out first time here on Sunday. Amazing presentation of food, it was also delicious. The staff were beyond nice. Mimosas were awesome!!! Will be back for brunch many more times I'm sure. Keep up... the good work! See More

Can't say enough about the staff and the delicious food! Emily went out of her way to specially make a desert that was not on the menue for my grandfather who is 100 years old! Made our day! Can't wai...t to go back! If you are in the Oregon district check them out!!!! See More

The glazed donut bread pudding is my new favorite thing that exists in the world. I dreamed about it and woke up wishing I had it for breakfast. It counts as a breakfast because it's made from Donuts, right?

The servers are attentive and very helpful. The food is AMAZING! I came for the campout and it was an event I will never forget. Dine out on the back patio if you get a chance it is magical.

Oh my goodness I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this place last night! The back patio is adorable, the waitress was equally adorable and sweet, and the General Tso's Cauliflower was nothing... short of AMAZING! Better than any other General Tso dish I've ever had! Visited for the first time on Mother's Day without a reservation and we were greeted kindly and they offered to call of after the wait so we could enjoy walking around the Oregon district without losi...ng our place in line. I Am in awe of how great the food and service was. Dayne was our server and he was perfect, attentive and genuine. The atmosphere was great. The food was soooooo food as well as the Mommy's Little Helper cocktail, which was so delicious I couldn't resist a second! So happy we ventured out of Yellow Springs and found it. My one suggestion is to add some kids items, we are a family of 5 and not having some lower prices and smaller sized options for the kids greatly diminishes how often we would be able to budget it in. Consider adding some smaller waffles, French toast or pancakes at a kids price. I hate to even add that though because we were so pleased with our experience. See More

It's a tough decision on which I like better: the fresh, local and creative (not to mention yummy) dishes or the fact that Amber is the best and most innovative mixologist around, bar none. So, it's ...a tie. Not to mention Emily is a very cool and talented restauranteur :)

Thank you from Virginia (my dog) and myself for being so accommodating today. When asked if your patio was dog friendly, your staff assured me it was, and immediately got her a bowl of water (she was ...tired and thirsty). I had a nice lunch and glass of wine, while she got to lay in the shade. No other establishment in the Oregon would allow us on their patio (Blind Bob's, Tumbleweed, Troley Stop). Thank you again! I work right around the corner from Lilly’s and eat there at least once a week, usually more. The food and service is always exceptional. Today was the pumpkin chorizo chili....amazing as usual.

Sunday Brunch. Nice setting in the Oregon District almost has a Yellow Springs feel. A little pricey but worth it. Limited menu but enough variety of items to pick from. Entrees are thoughtfully prepa...red with a different touch. Excellent coffee. Good service. Recommend reservations.
