Be careful out there, looks like it is the season of shed break-ins. Another site has been affected in the last few days, Ashbourne Rd Allotments.
-Install shed alarms- contact your local PCSO and ask about free shed alarms.
-Consider not padlocking your shed to prevent damage.
-Keep your best/new/larger tools & equipment off-site.
-Mark your tools- again contact your local PCSO for advice & details of local marking events.
-Regularly patrol the site boundary near your plot and report any weak spots for entry to your site's committee members.
-Plant prickly shrubs such as Hawthorn, Blackthorn, and Dog Rose near boundary weak spots- get your committee to apply for free tree packs from the Woodland Trust.
If you need to replace stolen tools/equipment check out the re-conditioned & second-hand items for sale at Little Chester Allotments.
Finally, look after each other. With support those most affected will not feel defeated!!!
It's this weekend that we are having our monthly work party. This month we are cutting back hedges and strimming vacant plots. Please join us between 10 and 2, Saturday and Sunday 😊
Hi all. I'm sorry to tell you that the water has had to be turned off. There is a damaged tap on middle avenue. We hope to repair the damage and have the water back on on Friday.
Hi all, please join us for this months work party, Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd, between 10 and 2. Do as little or as much as you can. All the help given will benefit the whole site, making it look tidy and cared for. I'll post again when I know for sure what work is planned.
Hi, a big thank you to the members that attended the meeting on Wednesday, at nearly half of our tenants, it was a great turn out. We now have 6 people on the committee. They are; Sharon Billings (plot 154), Joy Coombe (plot 74), Andi Hillyard (plot 124), Christine Plamer (plot 18), Jenifer Plamer (plot 19) and Nev Richards (plots 156 and 160).
With the team agreeing to commit to their position till the AGM 2018, we hope to complete projects that were agreed to at the last AGM and make improvements for the benefit to all on the site.
