Please join us at this special event which is expected to be a tournament unmatched for a wonderful organization such as the Relay For Life of Lockport. Should you not be able to attend the tournament, please join us as a sponsor for this special event, as there are many sponsorship and donation levels to choose from. By being a sponsor, you will be promoting your company to a grou...p of people who are very loyal to its sponsors, as well as to the many area professionals who will be participating at the outing itself. Companies like yours make available the resources that enrich our efforts in battling this horrific disease and for that, we are forever grateful.
Together, we can help make sure that cancer never steals another year of anyone's life. Our strength and commitment fuels the movement's growth, honors those that have been affected by cancer, and reminds us all how special one more candle, one more cake and one more celebration with the people we truly love is. Please join the movement today, because there's no such thing as too many candles.
GREET CHRISTMAS SEASON ON “A WINTER’S FEST EVE” AT HISTORIC COL. WILLIAM BOND/JESSE HAWLEY HOUSE
Ring in the holidays at the Niagara History Center’s Col. William Bond/Jesse Hawley House on “A Winter’s Fest Eve,” Thursday, December 1, from 6-8:30 p.m. We invite you to an open house filled with holiday décor, refreshments, music and lots of Victorian Christmas cheer.
The Bond/Hawley House, a 12-room Federal home/museum, is a History Center site located at 143 Ontario St. in Lo...ckport. The fully furnished house is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Co-curators Becky and Gloria Pittler are creating exhibits throughout the house with imagination and flair in this year’s theme, “Christmas in the City.” Each room will be decorated as a department store window from a past decade celebrating the Christmas season. You’ll feel right at home basking in the warm glow of days gone by and nostalgic traditions.
Please drop by for children’s activities, tours and light refreshments. The duo “Another Thyme” will entertain with seasonal music throughout the evening. We encourage families with children age 8 and up to attend.
The historic Bond/Hawley House is Lockport’s oldest brick home, built in 1823 by Col. William Bond and later owned by Erie Canal advocate Jesse Hawley.
The magazine Early American Life brought national attention to the Bond/Hawley House’s annual Christmas exhibit in a 2012 feature article. You’ll feel that same holiday magic this year.
We hope you’ll share an authentic Victorian Christmas with us at the Bond House this year for “A Winter’s Fest Eve.” Reservations are not necessary. Please visit anytime from 6-8:30. The last tour of the house will begin at 8 p.m.
You can also see the Bond House Christmas exhibit from 1-3:30 p.m. on three Sundays in December: Dec. 4, 11 and 18. Donations are accepted. In addition, we are able to offer tours for groups of eight or more by reservation and for a small donation.
For more information about “A Winter’s Fest Eve” at the Bond/Hawley House, Sunday hours of the Christmas exhibit, or group tours, please call the History Center at (716) 434-7433.
The History Center receives grant assistance from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
