MANCOS--Labor Day weekend events at Mancos State Park include a performance by two well-regarded musicians, Sandy Hoagland and Tom Kochanski. They will perform their blend of
fun, moving and family-friendly music at the park’s amphitheater on Sunday, Sept. 3, at 6 p.m.
The event is free to the public with the required $7 park entry fee.

Kochanski and Hoagland have made their musical mark as members of The Aloha Club ukulele band and other musical groups, as well as performing as a duo at the Cortez Farmers’ Market and other venues.

While the duo is perhaps best known for their ukulele playing, they also throw in guitar and other instruments to vary their repertoire. There appearance is the culminating event in the park’s summer Music in the Park series.

Mancos State Park offers a variety of activities, including trout fishing, boating, wildlife viewing and hiking, all included in the $7 entry fee.

In addition, the park hosts numerous events and programs.

Coming up Saturday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. is recent area transplant Donna Joerg, a folk musician who will reprise her eclectic mix of music.

On Saturday, Aug. 19, at 7 p.m., local musician Tim Krebs will perform.

And on Monday, Aug. 21, the park is hosting an Eclipse Party complete with provided eclipse-watching glasses and refreshments with names that reflect the solar system. Eclipse watchers meet at the Group Picnic Area at 10 a.m. The eclipse begin about 10:15 a.m.

Mancos State Park is located at County Road N at County Road 42.
