FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Latino Professionals Association Announces Leadership Changes
Nicole Sandoval Named President. Tania Ibarra Transitions to Board Chair.
(Madison, WI) January 9, 2018 — Latino Professionals Association (LPA) of Greater Madison announces leadership changes as it shifts focus on programs for professional development and improved member experience. Effective January 11, Nicole Sandoval will assume leadership of the organization as President, while the position of Chair will be filled by outgoing President, Tania Ibarra.
These changes come as part of LPA’s work to build internal capacity to support organizational growth. In the revised leadership structure, Ms. Sandoval will be responsible for the organizational management, including signature events Brindis del Exito and Building Our Legacy, as well as membership. Ms. Ibarra will be responsible for fund and board development, as well as contributing to program development. In this revised leadership model, Ms. Sandoval and Ms. Ibarra will work closely together to improve their respective areas as they are essential to sustaining and maintaining the growth of the organization.
"It is incredibly rewarding and exciting to continue growing the team, and Ms. Sandoval's election as President is a testament to LPA's commitment to invest in the professional development of our members, including board members,” says Ms. Ibarra.
“Ms. Sandoval served as our intern during her last year in college, during the first year of LPA. Later, as a staff member of the Latino Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Sandoval continued to support LPA through the implementation of a member database and planning of many LPA events. After moving for a career opportunity for a few years, Ms. Sandoval returned to Madison and immediately sought to join the LPA board.” Ms. Ibarra continued, “We were delighted and she has been part of the team for the past year. It is great to see young professionals willing to take on responsibility and make the most of opportunities for professional growth.”
Ms. Ibarra also noted that Ms. Sandoval will represent LPA on the Latino Consortium for Action.
The LPA is proud to announce the new leadership, as it brings new energy, new programs, organizational growth, and progress, coinciding with LPA's 5th anniversary.
