The Greater Dickinson Banquet – Typically held on the Friday closest to February 22 in commemoration of George Washington’s birthday, this event began in 1915 a...s a gathering to celebrate and discuss the future of Dickinson Seminary. The first banquet was attended by ninety-five male students, alumni, and faculty at the Park Hotel in downtown Williamsport. President Benjamin C. Connor and the faculty spoke about the values and goals of the institution and their hopes for the future of the seminary. The banquet quickly became an annual social function with elaborate decorations, fine dining, and orchestra music, but retained the purpose of celebrating “the Spirit of Old Dickinson” and "the Future Dickinson.” The event grew in popularity each successive year, and expanded to include all students, alumni, and friends of the institution. In 1949, after the school became Lycoming College, the banquet was renamed the Greater Lycoming Banquet. The last banquet held in February took place in 1953, and for the next two years the Greater Lycoming Banquet occurred during Homecoming Week. In 1956 the Greater Lycoming Banquet was replaced by the Homecoming Banquet, and later the Alumni Banquet. #FBF #LycomingCollege #CollegeArchives

I would have given this horrible place a zero star if i could. I went there for only two months before leaving. Make sure you live close by, because the professors, administrators, and fellow students... DO NOT care for your well being they only care for themselves and how you can benefit their school, so it can get VERY isolated. I went on over 6 tours of this school thinking it was a supportive close knit community of caring people, but in reality, it is full of cold abrasive characters who would walk over your dead body for a dollar bill.
I honestly hope this horrible school is closed down soon.

I truly enjoyed the campus visit. My daughter loved the rapport she has with all of her Professors, office staff, campus staff and students. A variety of food/menus/dining halls options are offered fo...r every delectable palate. Oh yes, & yes there is diversity on campus and various organizations/clubs/athletics & interests available for all students. There are students from as far away as California and international students attend Lycoming as well. It is a phenomenal private Liberal Arts College. The atmosphere kinda reminds me of a combination of "Boston MA" and "The Village" downtown Manhattan. She's doing really well.
Next We will have to come down for family weekend.

It was an honor to work with Lycoming College in their effort to raise awareness on homeless people of our city. It's a shame that things like this are happening. We need to help each other as humans ...no one deserves to live this way in America or anywhere else for that matter. I have traveled all over the world and all I can say is God Bless America. Now let's help and stand up to help those in need. See More

All Lives Matter! Your participation in an ignorant propaganda campaign which has resulted in harassment, riots, and the assassinations of police officers will cost you business. My kids will not atte...nd Lycoming. See More
