Margaret and I are heartbroken by the death of my sister Lynda Lynch. Lynda was so full of life and love and her sudden and unexpected passing has left our family without one of our brightest lights. We loved her tremendously and we ache with her passing. Thank you for the many kind expressions of sympathy. We are grateful for your prayers.
PLEASE JOIN US! Wednesday, May 10th at 6 PM - Help us prepare Mother's Day plants for one of our favorite Lynch traditions....Stephen's annual "Mother's Day Plant Drop". This year, we have nearly 7000 plants to dress up with foil and cards. Please stop by the Plumbers Local 12 Union Hall at 1240 Mass Ave.in Dorchester at 6 PM to lend a hand. The pizza will be hot, the company will be great and the smiles we spread across the district are priceless.
"..Union workers are safer because they are better trained and know they will be protected if they refuse to work under dangerous conditions. Building trade unions have apprenticeship programs that teach workers the required and recommended safety protocols..." Union apprenticeship programs, safety training and enforcement are critical.
I had the great honor of being sworn in today to represent the MA 8th Congressional district for another two years. Thank you for your tremendous support. I look forward to getting back into the fight on your behalf.
Tomorrow at 12:30 pm, the Boston Housing Authority, Mayor Martin Walsh, and the Old Colony Tenant Association will be renaming the Old Colony housing development the "Anne M. Lynch Homes at Old Colony" in honor of my late mother. Many of you know my mother from our campaigns over the years and know what an advocate she has always been for the underdog and those who struggle. My mom and dad raised 6 children at Old Colony and some of our best memories are of our time at Old Colony and the lifelong friendships we formed there. To us (as it is to those who live there today) Old Colony wasn't government housing it was our home.Thank you to Mayor Walsh, the Boston Housing Authority and the Old Colony Tenant Association for honoring my mother in such a special way.
Thank you very much for your overwhelming support yesterday. We earned 72% of the vote in a contested election. I am grateful and humbled by the numbers. After a very contentious election season, I am anxious to get back to work and hope we can come together to move our country forward.
Although I don't think anyone needs a reminder - It's Election Day across Massachusetts tomorrow! There are critical elections on the ballot and several important questions to consider. I do have an opponent and would greatly appreciate your support and your vote so I can continue to work for the people of the 8th Congressional District and for our country. Thank you for your consideration. I hope to see some of you at the polls tomorrow.
If you want to skip the lines on election day, there is early voting tomorrow (Saturday, October 29th) in South Boston at the Condon School from Noon - 6 PM and in West Roxbury at the West Roxbury Library from Noon - 6 PM.
