Majamisty Trio explores the space beetween jazz and classical music, ocasionally expanding the possibilities of the traditional jazz piano trio by adding a vocal part which is treated as an instrument equal to the others. The trio's lyrical style originates in the author's long experience in classical music and her affinity with jazz, thus finding an original path that paints subtle moods and emot...ions.
In August 2010 the Majamisty Trio recorded their debut CD Mistyland in the studio of famous serbian composer Boris Kovač. The album's 12 compositions comprise 10 by Maja Alvanović, one by her father Blaza Alvanović, and a cover of Errol Garner’s „Misty“.
