We get tired. Bored. Angry.
Disheartened. Discouraged. Disempowered....
I am maybe an unusual mix.
I like to be super prepared, with details all buttoned up.
And, equally, I like to be spontaneous.
So I like a plan. I like a destination. I like to look out to the horizon....
And to have no idea what I’ll find when I get there.
For me, this is the way to ensure the most pleasure. I enjoy the anticipation of something I’ve planned, and savor the mystery of its becoming.
And my planning ahead — leaving early for the appointment so traffic delays are not a hassle, or booking a date with a friend a month away — means I luxuriate in a certain spaciousness. I eliminate hurry and replace it with easeful speed. Yes?
So I am preparing, already, for The Womanly Arts Experience event happening December 1 and 2. And I was curious about the women who are signing up. Where are they coming from?
Stacy on my team had a look and 30% of the women who attend are from here, gorgeous New York City (hello, New Yorkers!). And 70% are from out of town! Some carpool in from Boston and some bus in from Hartford. Some take the train from Washington, DC. Some fly in from Chicago, San Francisco, LA, Toronto! Some fly in from Europe! From Africa! From further! All of you are magnificent!
And I want every single step of your journey to The Experience to be pleasurable. I want you to create an experience for yourself of enjoyment, no matter what. So, if you already have your ticket in hand, I recommend you plan your travel now. Get the AirBnB or book the travel tickets. What you choose doesn’t have to be fancy, but make sure it pleases you. Plan ahead for pleasure (and leave the rest open for delight). A little preparation now leaves so much room to savor the experience (rather than panic-googling in a month).
