We live in Virginia, originally
from Southern CA. Way back in 2006 a friend from Germany was going to CA for a concert in Soquel and we decided we needed a road trip. We arrived the day before our fri...end was due and Manuel's was recommende d. We went there for dinner and LOVED it. After picking our friend up from SFO and returning to our lodging location, we suggested dinner at Manuel's and, once again, had a great dinner. After friend's afternoon concert, and meeting another friend of his from Wash. DC, (all of us originally from CA) we decided to, once again, go to Manuel's and, once again, were not disappoint ed.
Been coming to Manuel's since 1993 and have never been disappoint
ed. When Manny passed away a few years ago us neighbors were concerned that the restaurant would change and it would be another great i...con gone by the wayside. I was wrong and the place is as good as ever. Best service in the county. Food is pretty good too. Margaritas are the best (get the pitcher).
I grew up in this town for 23 years (until I couldn't afford it anymore). Every time I visit SC (at least 2x/year) I go here as soon as I arrive and as many times as I can before I leave! The food and... salsa is UNMATCHED!
enchilada plate is my favorite! Also their house made guacamole is to die for! Not only that but the servers are all very nice and it's very community driven! This summer they even gave me a bouquet of dahlias for my wedding! Best place, food and people in town!
I was extremely satisfied with the service. The food was a amazing. The beef nachos were delicious.
This is a place I would recommend if in the area, it will be on my list every time I'm in town. Phot...o will be in the comment. Thank you for a delicious meal.

UPDATED REVIEW. Nov. 9, 2017. - The owner reached out to me to make things right after our problem with wait staff. Based on that, I will return to see if we have a better experience
. REVIEW Nov 3..., 2017. The food was good. The bad service ruined our lunch experience . The waiter we had served our entree & left to go eat his lunch at a table not far from us. He never retured to check on us or refill our drinks. He just ate his lunch & never looked up from his cell phone screen. Another waiter, a tall gentleman, was bartending , bussing tables, seating people & taking their orders. He checked on us & adjusted our bill since we never reveiled our appetizer. I tipped him for the great service. We had been given a good recommenda tion from our Airbnb host, but I wouldn't return.
Took boyfriend there for lunch for his birthday. Told my boyfriend their asada tacos sounded popular, we decided to go and try. He only wanted 2 but that wasn't a option. :( Upon serving, found them... to be lacking, as it was only 'meat in tortillas'
with no cilantro, onion or anything. Just some grilled scallions thrown on the plate, atop the tacos, beans 'n rice. 😏 Then when it came to my meal of a taco and tamale, loved the tamale (not so much the sauce) and the taco was made using store bought shells-- so disappoint ing!! If you can't make a decent taco, why be open!? The best thing about the food was that it was served piping hot! Chips were good. The sauce had a reminiscen t flavor of pizza sauce I thought. Though, it was super spicy, which I liked.
I went there because my brother thought their chili relleno was the bomb. My fav mexican meal is carnitas (which they didn't have) so I went for the chili verde. It was nothing special, it could've us...ed more seasoning for me. Their menu is small and the restaurant
is cramped too. For my taste it was just ok, I've had better mexican food in other restaurant s. I do encourage others to try this place and see if it satisfies their taste buds.

We just moved to a home just down the street from here, and we feel so grateful and fortunate to be so close to such a fun and warm family-run
restaurant . We went for dinner at about 8:30 last Wednesd...ay and the place was hopping... a great sign! The service we had was so friendly and quick, I had a couple amazing margaritas , and we had the best fish tacos we've ever experience d. I reckon the staff at Manuel's will get to know my family soon, as we will be back quite often :)

Manuel's is a must for my family when we are at Seacliff, 3 times a year. I/
we have never been disappointed. Well except this last time when I dropped my leftovers on the floor the next morning😕, it ...was supposed to be my breakfast. ☹️
superb experience . Every employee was truly profession al. Food was fantastic! Best Mexican food I've had in ages
It's just mediocre Mexican food from my experience
. This last time I realized how limited the menu is, no healthy choices if someone is trying to keep it "light" , just one uncreative / unappealing sala...d on the menu, so i sat there and watched while my friend ate. If I had enough margaritas , I'd probably say the food is good based on other meals I've had there. Salsa is delish!! (even if the chips were a tad stale.)
