The U.S. Department of State Office of Children's Issues is asking for our help in preventing international parental child abduction. One of the important tools being offered is the Children's Passport Issuance Alert Program (CPIAP).
If you enroll your child in CPIAP, the State Department will attempt to alert you if a passport application is submitted for the child. The Department will then verify the documentation submitted, ensuring that the application meets the two-way parental consent requirement. The goal of the program is to provide advance warning of possible plans for international travel with a child.
