Going to be a fun year! https://www.filmindependent.org/…/2018-film-independent-sp…/
Only been in Japan for four days and we've already seen and done enough for a lifetime! Intensely passionate and striking eye candy in every direction that demands your undying appreciation and sense of awe. One of the richest cultures in the world. We are being taken in by the most lovely people and thrust deep into the core of this amazing country. Starting in Hiroshima, we are slowly making our way from island to island being greeted by each local community and smothered with the most graceful and wild experience. Boats, trains, kayaks, carts, buses, bicycles, sea planes, and our eager feet zigzagging through some of he most hidden treasures Japan has to offer!
Finally able to get back to Italy after a couple years. Wandered around Liguria for a few days and captured my adventure in this little video. Great to catch up with old friends and meet some awesome new people. I've learned so much about myself in Italy and much of my heart lies there, so I'll never pass up an invitation to that amazing country! #gyle #lamialiguria
Another look into my filmmaking process, this time during the Lincoln road trip shoot. Vimeo, thank you for the love and accompanying us on the trip! You guys rock! https://vimeo.com/blog/post/on-the-road-with-matty-brown
As I shift direction and explore different types of filmmaking and styles, I wanted to share a lot of the techniques I've been playing with the last few years to help inspire others to take it to the next level! Most of my style came from improvisation from little resources and money, and I believe little creative experiments can lead to beautiful creations, but more importantly it'll help evolve and shape your own personal style. Has been fun being part of it all, and here are some fun things I do in cultivating my craft! skl.sh/matty2
A little insight into how I became a filmmaker. Might inspire some people who are struggling in various ways. https://vimeo.com/…/making-a-filmmaker-how-13-pros-got-thei…
If you aren't feeling that emotion while you are shooting and editing then neither will your audience. Make sure to FEEL what you are doing. I'm usally one to shy away from being on camera, but but when it comes to films and filmmaking I could talk for days. @skillshare turned their cameras on me once again to hang out and talk about my filmmaking process, even more in-depth and specific this time. Roaming around Brooklyn, NY explaining my philosophies with storytelling and ...emotion in film and how to capture it.
Can't wait to share some more of my tricks and ideas with you all! Stay tuned! And if you want to check out my first hangout session with them and learn some insight into filmmaking along with tricks of the trade, you can check out my first hangout session with them by going to the link below. Happy Halloween! Skillshare challenged me to walk out their office door in Manhattan and go on a 20 minute walk to a coffee shop with my camera to film and create a moody 1 minute horror piece to show you can create compelling visual storytelling by just a simple walk and mental exercise if you use your imagination. Skillshare has been sitting down to pick my brain about my techniques and ideas, and we will be partnering up again to go even deeper into the details of how I shoot and edit. If you want to see the little piece and the first hang out session with Skillshare and learn some awesome insights into my filmmaking process and get a free 3mth Skillshare trial using this link to check it out: http://skl.sh/matty
Had the most wonderful time speaking at #TheVideoSummit in Leipzig, Germany. So many inspiring, creative people all around! Spoke about inspiration, perseverance, doubt, and creativity. It's one thing to elicit emotion through video, but to speak passionately about the thing you love most in the world to people who want to hear is such a wonderful feeling as well! Glad to be in this cozy city. One of the most beautiful ones I've seen!
