I would like to thank everyone for your support throughout my years as Mayor. I have truly enjoyed working with you and working for you. Tonight is the organizational meeting where I will begin the council meeting and, following the oath of office to our newly elected council, I will turn the meeting over to our new council.

News from SOCCRA -

Recycling is the easiest thing
we can all do to improve our community, conserve
natural resources, and create green jobs. And don’t...
forget, for every ton of recyclables, Clawson earns money by recycling.. So the next time someone says “why bother to recycle?”, here are a few things you can say.
Over 75% of waste is recyclable
 It takes 17 times less energy to make products
from recycled materials than from virgin
 Your city pays $27.00 per ton to dispose of
curbside trash.
 SOCRRA rebates your community $20.00 per ton
for curbside recycling.
 Recycling increased 30% in Clawson. Thank you for recycling.

We have a regularly scheduled council meeting tonight, Wed, Nov 8 and an Organizational Meeting on Monday, November 13th. At the November 13th meeting, the presiding mayor begins the meeting. Oaths of office are presented to the newly elected council and the new council members take over the meeting to begin the legislative work of the city! Congratulations to incoming Council Women Paula Millan and Sue Moffitt and incoming Mayor Deb Wooley.

My last day as Mayor of the City of Clawson will be November 13, 2017. I have been on council for 14 years, 10 as the longest running mayor in Clawson. I have had a great experience due to each one of you. It's been a pleasure serving you!

Tomorrow is election day! Five candidates are running for two council seats. It's time to elect two new people to city council. Paula Millan is a number one choice. She has the experience and expertise to represent Clawson. Matt Ball, Kyle Bird and Sue Moffitt all have great strengths. Matt is an attorney and his family has city management experience. I have worked successfully with Matt in other committees. Kyle is an attorney and brings a newer resident perspective. Sue worked in human resources and is enthusiastic.
