January 30 is World Leprosy Day, established to raise awareness of the disease and the many people who are disabled and stigmatized by it from before it was curable. The Wellcome Trust film, "On Leprosy", shows in depth one of the first detailed published descriptions of the disease by D.C. Danielssen and C.W. Boeck, published in Bergen, Norway, in 1847.
