Mesa Jane announced a concert Mesa Jane @ Val's Halla Records. - Tomorrow is the day I get to share! To finish up the 10 day countdown, here is the last fun fact from the making of the CD:
My first album took 4 years from finish to end. This record took less than a year to make and I think it's even b...etter than the first! Goes to show there's no rhyme or reason to creative inspiration. It comes from the heart more than the head for me. And wouldn't have happened without all the love and support from family, friends, fellow musicians, fans, and of course the people who worked on the album with me. Love you all!!

- #2 / Countdown to single release: -There is a piano ballad on this album is the saddest song I've ever written. I cried while writing it. I cried while recording the demo, and I cried while recording the final vocals for it. I've never had that happen with any other song. I hope it touches the hearts of listeners the way it touched mine.
- #3 / 10 day countdown until single release: As mentioned, I was pregnant the whole 8 mos we spent recording this album (kudos to my producer Tim for dealing w/ that), and I often wondered what impact it might have on the baby. I think he proved his connection to it by being born on my producer's dad's birthday
- Can't wait to be back in the PNW this Summer! A big thanks to Terry of Music Millennium for adding another show to the "For the Love of It Record Store Tour"...I'll be there on 8/10/14 at 5pm! Yah!

#4: The same great folks who worked on my last album, Joel Metzler and Tim Sonnefeld from MilkBoy the Studio , also made this one with me. Love those guys! - #5: I'm a bit of a nature lover/treehugger and there is a strange story about how a spider helped inspire the writing of the first track on the album. I'll save that story for another time...#dontquestionthemethod lol

- #7: The title of the LP was going to be "All In" until a last minute change was made. The new title reflects the fact that I embrace the light and dark sides of life and try to balance them. (Any guesses?) Although I think this album is more on the dark side, there is at least on unabashed super sunny song to balance things out
- #8: Some of the sounds on this record were unplanned and not what you might think. There's a vocal sample that was created from me telling my producer (jokingly) to "back off" while the mic was recording. It's been tweaked so you can't ...tell what I'm saying. We also ended up sampling the sound of a beer bottle hitting the ground that was recorded during the pre-pro, and the sound of the screeching brakes of a Septa bus was kept and given a new frequency. - I'm getting ready to release the first single from my upcoming album and thought it would be fun to count down the 10 days until the release with some fun facts about the making of the record.
10 DAYS until single release: My last CD was recorded all analog and I wanted to capture some of my 80s childhood this time so we combined live drums w/ 808 drum machines and 80s synth sounds w/ electric guitar. There's analog bass w/ synth "kraftwerk" bass. I've already said too much. Wait until you hear it - I'm so grateful to be playing a show on 8/6/14 with the very talented and unique Chris Schlarb (opened for Sufjan Stevens) at Diabolical Records in the heart of Salt Lake City! Thank you!!
