Pepe Belmonte is a roots-blues guitar player and singer song-writer. He grew up in Co. Cork on the West coast of Ireland. His musical influence meanders through Irish, Malian and Hawaiian folk to the pre-war blues of Chicago along The Delta and down through the lyrical landscape of Dylan, Mitchell and Young. Mississippi John Hurt meets JJ Cale meets Nick Drake. Music from his as debut album 'THE HERMIT'S WALTZ' make up the soundtrack to the independent feature film, 'The Hour... of Living' in which Pepe also appears as 'The Singer'.

Pepe's new sound steps away from the acoustic blues folk toward a plugged-in rootsier noise where, with nostalgic and contemporary tones you will be transported to deep swamp America, the Irish countryside and the streets of London. Pepe will soon start recording his next album and new songs can be heard at live shows.

"Jake Watson and The Swamp Stomp String Band are not your average americana band. Twangy Banjos, driving Guitars and a thudding Double Bass sit behind anything from drinking songs that'l have the room stomping there feet and shooting tequila to ballads that'l break even the most toughest folks, to ragtime songs of bar fights and gambling. The London based duo can often be found busking by the side of Thames in the day and performing in any haunt from high end cocktails joints... to dimly lit Irish bars at night.

Taking a mixture of Jazz, Country, Swing, Blues and Ragtime - it is safe to say there music is there to be enjoyed by people young and old, rich or poor, or who just love to stamp there feet and have a ho-down."

Press/Reviews:

"Every once in a while you get to hear new music which teeters brilliantly on that cusp between the unsigned scene and what you’d expect of the sound, talent and production values of an artist that is already signed to a label. Cheltenham based Acoustic/Folk/Blues artist Jake Watson fits that niche perfectly" - Merge Music Magazine

THEO BARD

A leading figure in the East London music scene, Theo is a skilled lyricist and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, violin, bass), with intelligent lyrics and a deft ear for melody. His songs celebrate love, friendships and good times, the thrills and spills of busking in London’s markets, and his legendary Woodburner music nights in Hackney.

Always delivered in the direct and frank narrative style that marks him out as an exceptional songwriter, his songs are borne of a lifetime steeped in music and song. He played violin from the age of four, spent his childhood singing round campfires at Forest School Camps, and honed his craft busking in London’s busy markets.

He is also the man behind the legendary Woodburner Music. Woodburner has grown into a heady experience that regularly attracts 100s of revellers a week to its summer season at Dalston Eastern Curve Garden. Woodburner has hosted performances from the likes of Johnny Flynn and Nick Mulvey, as well as hosting events and stages at the likes of the Southbank Centre and Wilderness Festival.

Theo kick-started 2015 with extensive touring in the UK, Belgium and Germany, and he's had a busy summer of touring and festivals with appearances at Glastonbury, Wilderness, Camp Bestival and a host of others.

His first solo EP, You Give, which he wrote and produced himself, was released in October 2015 and is available to buy on Bandcamp and all the usual digital channels.

MALI HAYES:

Taking influences from the likes of Lianne La Havas and Emily King to Jill Scott and Erykah Badu – Mali's music takes you on a journey through indulgent harmonies and captivating lyrics over nu/neo soul rhythms.

Mali also takes great influence from her producer/sound engineer mother, Yvonne Ellis who has toured with the likes on Simply Red, Roni Size and Giles Peterson along with his cuban band. Having Yvonne's influence from birth has been a blessing for Mali and... has helped her gain knowledge in the industry she strives to be part of. Mali has done backing vocals on many studio sessions and live gigs for artists such as JP Cooper, Rioghnach Connolly, Briana Corrigan (The Beautiful South, Zoe Kyoti and the legendary Tito Jackson at Under The Bridge, London!

After recently graduating from Leeds College of Music, Mali is now working and experimenting with her 5 piece band including the likes of George 'Jazz Man' Holliday (Keys – PNEUMA) and Nick Williams (Pe) plus lashings of BV's on new vibes to bring to the worlds ears!

“Mali is a great person to know and work with. She is a joy to be around and has maturity beyond her years” - JP Cooper, Singer/Songwriter, Island Records

In November we have two fantastic bands from up north:

and the fantastic Hardiwcke Circus, all the way from Carlile:

Eight piece rock 'n' roll collective drawing its members from Scotland, Finland & England.

Think early 'Rolling Stones' covering 'Catfish & The Bottlemen' & you might have some idea of where they're coming from.

The promoter at King Tut's in Glasgow likened their show to the Stones 'Exile on Main St.' He loved them so much he booked them 3 times in 2014. They've supported the Buzzcocks, Happy Mondays, Toploader & McFly & recently headlined at the famous Dublin Castle in Camden.

Prolific writers, the band has over 60 original songs which they have played live and two original albums; 'Amusements" and 'Don't Dream Babe, No-One's Listenin'', both under the old name of The Alleys.

The Black Site:

In just less than a year since first forming, The Black Site have already recorded an EP, had it released on Swiss label 4:25am Records on exclusive clear vinyl, been tapped personally to tour as support for the UK leg of Nadine Shah’s “Fast Food” tour, been featured on BBC 6 Music and Amazing Radio, and are now back in the studio recording tracks for what will be the debut LP.

The London duo is comprised of Emma Dennis, a California raised poet and writer, and Nick Bergin: former member of bands including Sophia, Madam and Adam Franklin's Bolts of Melody.

The live shows are tumultuous, dramatic affairs, and for just the two of them, Nick and Emma make a lot of noise.
