The dancing started early (....10 am!) and just kept going as people kept arriving. Thank you DJ Dominic for the fantastic playlist!

This was the absolute worst experience ever. We have a membership that allows us to travel to other museums and enter for free. We traveled from Schenectady,New York and they would not honor our entra...nce. The girl at the desk showed us the map of the radius which was 90.7 miles but said that the borders overlapped. If you ask me 90.7 is over a 90 mile radius (rules say it has to be over 90 miles). We called our museum in Schenectady and they confirmed we should be allowed to go in as part of the program and also said that they honor families with Mid Hudson Memberships all the time. We also visit the Berkshire Museum al the time which is only 60 miles away from us and they never give us a problem.
Extremely poor business practice as we were turned away at the Mid Hudson Museum. My children were upset...the director that was working today has very poor customer service skills and the Board of the museum should look into her interactions with people from outside the area. Isn’t this suppose to be a family friendly program?! Seems to me like your museum is more ‘business’ than family oriented!
Outrageous!

Love it. The setting is fabulous, on the Hudson, by the Walkway over the Hudson and the Upper Landing Park. Close to the Poughkeepsie train station and the CIA for lunch. Exhibits change. Great fo...r parties - get the price down by joining as a Voyager Member and then you get to see other museums too. You'll need to be super prompt, but the kids have a great time and everyone gets a ticket to come back. Wonderful place to spend half a day or just an hour to let the kids get some wiggles out. Lots of fun demonstrations and programs. Does a good deal for the community. Highly recommend membership as you may be more apt to use it for short visits when in Poughkeepsie for other things, like breaking up a shopping day or fun after a doctors appointment. See More

This place is awesome for young kids. I have a 3 year old and a 1.5 year old. You can just go in and let the kids play and explore. There are so many different learning exhibits for them to enjoy.

We live near the Strong Museum in Rochester, so it's hard to measure up to that, but for its size it was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon with our 4 year old. We spent 3 hours there, everything ...was working, and had lots of fun! See More

We had a great party. We rented the space after hours for a birthday party. It’s a pretty penny. They are a little over the top about setting up and being out “on time.” If they chilled a bit I would ...give them ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ See More

Staff are rude. They yelled at my kids to “cut it out” when there are so many other ways to be polite and talk to young kids. Or simply come to the parent. That is no way to talk to kids and I told th...em and they laughed. Never going back there See More

Marvelous place. Love taking our grandchildren. Then, if weather permits, walk over to the elevator up to the amazing railroad walkway over the Hudson. If food is on the agenda, go to Lola's for a h...ealthy and delicious lunch. See More

My just turned 3 year old played for 2.5 hours, he especially loves the air chutes with scarves and the dome on the second floor. Some components are starting to look a little worn, but everything i...s functioning. The new play area under / behind the mammoth fossil looks very promising. See More

A bit pricey. A really good place for a kid who can maintain attention on one exhibit at a time. Although some things for children who keep running around. Would definitely keep going back if it were ...a little cheaper. See More

We received a one year free family membership from my son's preschool and we try to take advantage of it as much as we can!! It's a great family outting especially on a rainy or cold day. My son loves... going there. The only thing I could suggest is new experiments or switching out more often. The last few times we've gone it's been the same things, doesn't seem to bother my son at all though! lol just the only suggestion I could make. See More

This museum is wonderful and spacious and everything is designed with the needs of children in mind. I encourage all my friends with kids to go there when they visit me.

Enjoyed my time here with two 9 year olds - I was concerned the museum was more for younger children but there was enough for them to do in the STEM area for a few hours - we spent a wonderful afterno...on here creating & exploring! There is a space to sit & eat if you bring food & a vending machine (which was out of order when we went). The museum is steps away from the waterfront and close to the train station, the Walkway on the Hudson & several restaurants - it's an easy day trip if you take the train! See More

My kids had a fantastic time. Ages 2,5,8... great place to bring them for a few hours maybe more . We packed a lunch to eat at designated eating area. Parking is validated. And it's clean. We have go...ne to many different places like this ( or trying to be like this) and this is one of the best and cleanest.. not the biggest bit still awesome! For a family of 5 it gets a little pricy to visit regularly... but every few months would be good. I'm going to look into season pass See More

Best place in the hv for young kids. Lots of activities , clean, staff were warm, friendly and inviting. It's good to know that they provide a buddy system for your child if you need to step away even... to use the bathroom or a phone call so your child doesn't miss a beat a fun! Highly recommend!
