Locate The Missing Update: Horrible news to report The body of a missing Norman baby at the center of an Amber Alert is believed to have been found at an Oklahoma City home, according to police.
According to police, 31-year-old Victor Manuel Minjarez, the child's father, has been booked into jail on charges of first-degree murder and desecration of a human corpse in connection with the child's death.
Minjarez was arrested Wednesday night at a home near Northwest 30th Stree...t and May Avenue, after an Amber Alert was issued for his 7-month-old baby, Jody Minjarez, authorities said. Police said they also found a body believed to be of the baby at that home.
Previous story: 7-month-old baby kidnapped after violent assault, please re-post On February 19, the Norman Police Department responded to a report of a domestic assault in the 1500 block of Lakecrest Drive. Officers determined that 31-year-old Victor Manuel Minjarez violently attacked the mother of his child and then fled the residence with their son, seven-month-old Jody Minjarez.
On February 23, the victim, the child’s mother, obtained an emergency Victim Protective Order (VPO) that ordered 7-month-old Jody Minjarez be returned to her. On February 28, Victor Minjarez sent a text message to a friend telling her to tell the victim that she would never see her son again. Based on this information, it is believed that 7-month-old Jody Minjariz is in imminent danger of bodily harm or death.
Victor Minjarez fled the scene of the incident with the child driving a rented U-Haul pick-up truck, license plate unknown. Minjarez is homeless, and it is unknown where he is currently staying. However, investigators believe he is likely in the Oklahoma City metro, possibly staying at a motel or with a friend. New information leads investigators to believe that Minjarez is driving either a light blue BMW four-door sedan or a white Cadillac Escalade bearing Oklahoma license plate 128-KNQ.
Victor Minjarez is described as a 31-year-old Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes. Minjarez is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.
Jody is approx. 2’1” tall, weighs about 25 lbs., has brown hair and eyes.
Please call 911 immediately if seen or contact the Norman Police Department at 405.321.1444 with any information.
