If this man were standing at this spot on Kiana Beach just over a month ago all you'd see was a straw hat on the sand. Now the beach is gone. A reminder of the extreme storms and 10 metre seas along Eyre Peninsula's West Coast in the last week of September.
Also a perhaps unexpected effect of the storms is now becoming apparent, untold thousands of trees severely damaged by ocean salt carried in many areas 10s of kilometers inland along a 150km stretch of coast.

Louis Rogers, age 11 fired off this shot of the Prime Minister's VIP jet attempting to land at #PortLincoln early this afternnoon in wild cross winds. The pilot made two attempts, got within 50 feet of touching down but in the end the risk was too great and the jet turned around for Adelaide.
It's the second time in less than a month that meetings between Port Lincoln business community and the PM have been thwarted by bad weather! #AusPol
