You are giving very good information on PM2.5 and where it comes from "Fine particle pollution comes... from vehicle emissions, power plants, and fires (grills, fireplaces, cigarettes, and wood stoves, as well as forest fires) – anywhere organic matter is burned". The only thing that's missing is that you do not advise against wood burning stoves, back yard fires and fire pits. The one area that Moms can make a real and immediate difference to their family's health (and their neighbours) is to stop burning wood. There is no safe level of exposure to PM2.5 and the effects can be life long. For children this means asthma, lung infections and lower IQ. For the elderly with COPD & heart disease it can mean death.
Can you explain why you are avoiding giving a strong message to your members - the dangers are well established and the British Lung Foundation have changed their advice to recommend avoiding fires and wood stoves for this reason. Will you do the same?
