The one thing you NEED to keep private on Facebook?
Your full date of birth
The reason? To help fight identify fraud! For #ScamAwarenessWeek our chief risk officer Paul Abbey offers these tips to help stop scammers getting your details.
... - Delete your year of birth (ideally, your whole DOB!) from social media (or anywhere online!)
- Be very careful about where you share personal details, you’d be surprised how much scammers can find out.
- If someone wants to copy your ID challenge why they need it and when they’ll delete it.
- Check your credit file regularly to make sure no one is applying for loans in your name
