I was so shocked and amazed when Maree Todd MSP held up my novel before the The Scottish Parliament. As an author, it's a moment I will never forget and as someone with Lyme the debate was an acknowledgment that action must be taken about Lyme disease.

Thank you to all the MSP who are speaking out about Lyme disease, to Lyme Disease UK and to all who are doing their bit to spread awareness.

Got this book from my sister who raved about it. Read it in 2 days as could not put it down, you can just see the main person and feel for her as she is not get...ting any answers, knowing someone who has very similar symptoms, I could totally relate to her and how everyone round about her had to try and deal with it. Nothing fluffy in this book and all laid bare, a must read. See More

What a read! You will not be able to put it down. Following Morven on her journey to find a diagnosis and to hear her slow but steady recovery. A brilliantly written book. A must for any reader.

Having had the privilege of reading a script of the book,. and as a bookseller with many many titles in the shop, this has to be one of the most beautifully written books I've ever read. Absolutely hooked from the very first chapter. Simply Brilliant.
I'm so excited to have a stall at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival. So many brilliant bands playing, including the Full Tilt Ceilidh Band. I really hope I'm close enough to hear them play.

Such a wonderful and exciting moment when the Full Tilt Ceilidh Band introduced Finding Joy to the crowd at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival - thanks guys! Ps. Camera skills were not entirely my own 😂

Is it just me or is the snow making anyone else feel a bit Christmassy? ❄️❄️😊❄️❄️

*Very special author event alert!*

Fiona MacBain - Writer, Tuesday 23rd January 2018.

Brought up in Fort William, Fiona has self-published two thrillers.

GLASDRUM (one town, five women, dark events…) is a dark humoured thriller set in Lochaber and DAUGHTER, DISAPPEARED (love, death, culture clash, escape…) a hard hitting thriller set in Tunisia, where Fiona lived for three years.

Fiona will talk about the real-life events that inspired both her novels, including her own ‘escape’ from Tunisia with her young baby which is mirrored in Daughter, Disappeared, and how the locations and memories of her childhood influenced the plot of Glasdrum.

She’ll also explain how and why she decided to self-publish instead of following the traditional publishing route and the unexpected success that has brought.

Her books have been hugely popular in The Highland Bookshop and we are sure this will be another fascinating evening in-store. Keep an eye on Facebook for more details.
