Moscow Art Theatre (Too) presents a production of the 2009 Tony-winning play that the New York Times praised as: "[A] streamlined anatomy of the human animal…delivers the cathartic release of watching other people's marriages go boom. A study in the tension between civilized surface and savage instinct, this play is itself a satisfyingly primitive entertainment."
A playground altercation between eleven-year-old boys brings together two sets of parents for a meeting to discus...s the fight. At first, the couples maintain adult decorum but as the meeting progresses, tensions rise and the surface niceties crumble, revealing the adults' true feelings - and their own childish conceptions.
Directed by Ben Gonzales (who also directed last year's AN ILIAD) and featuring Moscow Art Theatre (Too) regulars Mary Trotter and David Harlan, along with MAT(T) newcomers Maggie Matteson and Willie Grover, the play will make you laugh and cringe and may even make you ponder your own ideas about right and wrong.
Tickets are $10 and are available at the theatre.
