The MRTSGA President's Cup tournament was held today, 8/10/2017 at Hermitage CC and it was a great day. The weather was perfect and we had a full field of participants (92) competing for individual prizes as well as team prizes.
The food served afterwards was delicious(best hot dog I ever ate).
We played the Sabot course (par 72) and some very nice scores were turned in. Joe Miles took the low gross honors with an even par 72, congratulations Joe. To view the flight winn...ers and closest to the pin winners click on the image below.

Our first tournament of the year is in the books and it was a great success. The weather was perfect, the Meadowbrook Golf Course was fun to play, the service before and after the golf was superb and the food was delicious. The format was preferred drive and the low scores reflected that. In fact the lowest score I can remember was shot by Dale Morris of Stonehenge, Dale fired a 69, not bad for a senior golfer in the MRTSGA. When I congratulated Dale on his score he was v...ery humble saying "well I holed out 2 sand shots and made a 50 foot putt from the fringe". My reply was that I could have done that and still not broken 80. I have posted a copy of the scoring sheet below, please click on it for a larger view.
Congratulations to all the flight winners and closest to the pin winners, they are recognized on the Re-cap sheet posted below.
Don't forget the next event is at Salisbury CC on Thursday, May 25th @ 8:30am, sign up and join the fun.
Don't forget to sign up for 2017 season if you have not done so already. You can contact your Three Score Representative at your home club if you need information. Senior male golfers at the participating clubs are eligible.
In case you missed it in the Times Dispatch this morning, one of Meadowbrook CC senior golfers had a hole in one on the second hole yesterday. Jim Atkinson who plays in all the Greater Richmond Senior Golf events got the ace. Having played with Jim a few times, I doubt if this was his first ace because he hits the ball very straight. Congratulations Jim, I will collect on my drink this week.
