This male alligator snapping turtle (Macrochelys temminckii) represents a new county record, and it is currently the largest captured this year at 62.8 pounds!

Luke is conducting surveys for alligator snapping turtles in Mississippi with funding by the US Fish and Wildlife Service and MDWFP's Mississippi Museum of Natural Science.
