dear friends of drone music,
i am very happy to announce the re-release of my out of print record N(13) „prora“. back in 2009 i stated:
„'prora' got its name soon after inke arns, artistic director of HMKV medienkunstverein, captured my imagination by telling me about her new exhibition 'wach sind nur die geister' / 'awake are only the spirits', an exhibition on ghosts and... their media.
with two somehow otherworldly sounding drones just finished, this talk inspired me to look for a 'real' ghost-like place this time, in line with my own concept of linking music with a real place. some talks and a few hours driving later i ended up at 'prora', both a small village and a strange and haunting place nearby with history and reality melting into something incomprehensible... an atmosphere, that may somehow be illustrated by the drones and the pictures on the sleeve and the inlay...“
today, with the rerelease on empiric records, the follow-up to droehnhaus, who already released the record in 2009, we we of course let the music untouched but expanded the former two-sided-inlay to a big 12“-sized, 12-page-booklett including photos i took at the location and two different linernotes: one by inke arns of HMKV and the other by tobias fischer of tokafi music-magazine. and, not enough, the vinyl also includes a download code and a postcard...
