On May 31st, the Philadelphia Police Department indiscriminately sho...wered a predominantly-Black area of West Philadelphia with tear gas and rubber bullets in response to #BlackLivesMatter protests. While there were isolated, sparing reports of looting, PPD officers in full body armor and armored tanks harassed the streets for hours, attacking people who were simply walking home from work or on their porches.
LDF, Abolitionist Law Center, and Kairys, Rudovsky, Messing, Feinberg & Lin LLP have filed a suit against the City of Philadelphia for PPD’s egregious treatment. The solution to police violence isn't more police violence. #ProtectProtesters
