I'm still puzzled why so many people watch it, but you can see that it's so well produced that it would suck people of a certain demographic in many clearly. No one believes that I don't believe him, but I love anyone who really. Sticks to the guns to accept to their guns and really goes to the mountain on an opinion. that's clearly not true. It did seem an odd thing to get upset. It's very specific. I think we forget about they're all living in this tiny apartment boy you know apartment together. They have a life outside of the episodes, which is where all the making in the banana bread happens. It's pretty crazy. the amount of trust about sharing banana bread recipe. That's easy. Don't just share it with anyone correct. Yeah you probably back on and then have some banana bread. Maybe that's a hot day. I mean to that date. That's a strong buy but so with Haley. I think there's a really great moment that just really condenses this this awkward tension that was in the room for the entire 90 minutes here. It is the thing that we did kiss. I'm apologizing for the Flirtatious behavior and for dancing on Hailey and for being in that room. But during that night, I did not kiss Haley. I would love to say I can remember every single thing that happened in that night, but I cannot apologize for something that I have no recollection of happens. And then I said, I did not happen and I've taken the peace and democracy out of this experiment and how hard some of you have had and I say this to make a mockery because the other person I'd like to apologize because we did kiss and we did hook up. Before the the dinner party, she goes and latches that that toothbrush that toilet took brush off the bathroom shelf wraps it in rings and paper towel and shoves it into her bra strap and then just as everyone's turning on during the night, she pulls it out of her bra strap triumph at least starts, Wilding it around the room and then she pegs it at David's head it Ricochet of David's head and it hits on Tracy Stacey so different season. it hits Stacey in the lips and God what a kick to the guts for Stacey. Already had a rough husband's shadow and now she gets a toilet toothbrush to the face. That's it's also had did you decide how to silver lining didn't you say it was positive. It had a silver lining as bright as her pick, White and shiny Marie Cardi and we're gonna go home and sleep tonight thinking about Haley's toilet habits and ways that I don't sleep. This is the thing I know I look after suffering after David's Revelations last night, I was up to four in the morning just pondering them. It's this is what I'm concerned cuz you know I was a fan of I was stock home syndrome into two seasons ago and then last year I just got. With launched on I thought well, this is great. It's great, trash television and well-produced this year. I feel like the producers might have lost control a little bit. I feel like they've cast it well for drama. These are great vivid insane characters, but they also go Rogue and I feel like what we're seeing is getting quite messy and vivid and it makes me feel scared. No. it's funny. You should say that cuz I was watching the episode tonight and you know all was normal for most of it, but then in that final fuse scenes of hair. The look of just humiliation and embarrassment and pain on her face that everyone's kinda giggling that she's used this toilet toothbrush. I mean that's the kind of public ridicule that can just ruin a person and you could really see it and I felt uncomfortable watching that what about you guys look at the other people like this out in the real world. I mean, is this a reflective into Parliament House is this a reflection though of 20 - five to 30 - five year-old Australians. I mean this They people like that who carry on like this. I'm not saying it's everyone in the demographic, but yes there certainly are people like you're doing a disservice to say it's the demographic. I mean I might have made a glib comment about camera, but some of the the stories that come out about. you know the people dancing on the table and breaking the table and all the strains sexy Affairs. I don't think it's confined to a demographic million a million and a few people watching this every night. Why did why do you think they watch it? I suppose that's what it is and I hope they're watching it thinking let's not be like that that we're not like those people do you think that's what we all tell ourselves. It's sort of looking through the window at one of those dinner parties that you don't wanna be at and you're pleased you're not but you know they happen. Do you watch anything else like any other either whether they be reality or or otherwise where you think please that that's not a reflection of yourself on the screen. I don't watch much reality TV, which is weird given I did one of those reality shows. Yeah. So yeah, that's right. you did I'm a celebrity and you would just you would just start talking about the baboons that were above your head. they almost. Go crazy. The difference with that program by the way is that none of it was scripted. None of it can tribe none of it. They did so that whole thing is shot completely live and genuine. What do you recognize because David last night on the show he was talking about on married at first sight, you can find in these spaces very little sleep. They give you so much alcohol that you hang over and just dead the next day you're crawling the walls they give you you know just a little bit of food today. So you're starving you go crazy. You know the jungle is pretty much like that you're in this confined space. She can't do what you want. you got no technology rubbish food. I mean it were there any parts. you know part of you where you just thought I really gotta rain myself in because I'm gonna look a little bit crazy. If I lash out you know I had to at one point say look I need to take all the mics and stuff and talk to the producers cuz I actually need to leave because I'm being I'm being forced and not by any scripting on being forced by the activities around me to be to potentially be seen to be bullying right. A. Female on the show who is the person I refuse because that's not me. I'm not. I'm not a bully and I do not wanna be portrayed like that. And but if it keeps going like this, I'm gonna yell at this person and it's gonna be very bad for me. I see all the last year's people Commenting on this year's People's Instagram, and I think oh, no no, but they will try. But they will try to be a big group. We were speaking to Tracy Jewel few podcasts ago and she was saying yeah, We're all in a group chat. so it's like a big kind of camaraderie. you know group that they're all in and they all think that they're supporting each other and getting themselves through the process. But Steve I do have to say I mean you're saying people come on married at first site just to get the blue tick in the Instagram followers and go to the Melbourne Cup. When I saw that you were going on. I'm a celeb. I thought you know what he's only in it for the Instagram teeth whitening lasers sponsorships. That's all he wants. He just wants to sex toys. Sex toys He just wants to sell skinny mini tea on Instagram. That is very I've got your game sponsorship. so I get out of that. you would not believe have you ever been sponsored by anyone apart from like on two GB on the radio like has anyone ever said. I mean either people outraged people don't want me Associated with anything cuz I think I'm just gonna criticize it major and I probably will that's my brand. I know this is not about celebrity, but the great thing about that was. Like Casey Donovan, who went into that show she was an Uber driver and she's come out since and she just exploded back on to yeah the scene in Australia musically. She's just a fantastic woman and I think maybe sometimes that's what keeps us watching these shows that married at first sight. I mean when there are genuine moments, camera jewels for everything you've said about the way that they've kind of monetize their romance scenes. I really enjoyed that story last week like he genuinely enjoyed it as about didn't think it was lime. James let me finish. It takes two to Tango and I am I failing you am I healing. Yeah. Yeah. you're you're David Highly. I just think that you need that balance in those genuine moments to really offset the fact that you're seeing some pretty toxic disgusting behavior. that makes you feel bad that people behave in this way. whether they're in front of cameras or behind cameras, I think every now and then you need moments of hope and reality television. good reality television does that well and I think with Cathy and Josh, they tried to do that this year. They're a little moments that you try. Cling on to going not always lost, we we can still connect as people there are still empathetic moments within this set. That's a great point of terrible behavior and I think Chasey and Australian Idol and all of them. So what's the sunshine moment that in this show, you've watched it more than anyone. They must be a sunshine moment. you will you say the Cathy and Josh you know moments and the and the Jonathan in the Connie moments they kind of thing. I mean there's I don't feel like any of the couples have the. Impact of force that Cam and Jules have eyebrows in a fan of Cameron jewels, but I do understand you. I know look you've already identified some struggle to receive love. I remember your last therapy session. Thanks Maria to your point. it would not write if it was sunshine and happiness and they all liked each other and they're nice people. People want people want the trash drama. I mean, that's why they watch Real Housewives and stuff like that. But for me, I just think you do need every now and then a bit of emotional anchoring because otherwise life is very vacuous and hopeless and you just every now and then. A moment of pure human kindness to get you the right, but that's what bugs me when people always come out. It's always around this time of the year. Married At First Sight hit its you know fire and all these people come out and say, do people really wanna watch this. This is irresponsible people. people shouldn't be doing this to each other. We should be watching Nice beautiful last year. Oh sorry to quite you but but the thing is people wouldn't watch it. You wouldn't watch that so when people come out and they say that I do not. I do not believe that they genuinely would switch that on you know it's a nice thought, but they're not. Do it, I do think you know I'm banging on a bit but the conversation points it gives us like last year with Mike and Heidi and the gap like what it made us talk about gas lighting as a nation and what what tonight makes us say about when people pile on a woman as the scarlet woman in a in a cheating triangle, I do think it's I think it's conversations worth having whether it's like that. the fact that married at first sight is the conduit for us to have these kind of conversations is that good or not. I don't know I think at least we're having them. Yeah. Of course you do you wouldn't have a job. Otherwise I only get paid because of married at. Television is so kind of highly produced, but I just enjoyed that there was certain things that people couldn't fake that their faces betrayed them, but even if they were saying, I'm fine to do the dishes and you watched at home going, she's not she's not fine. and when you write TV people can't act that people always struggle to do that. If you like that people say that you're nicer than we thought you would does it hurt you that people think you're a prick like Michael Talk. radios are very difficult Beast and I always try and do it really honestly, but it can be very difficult and you do have to have strong views about things that a lot of people don't like. and so if people just snatches of what you're doing, they think of you was. just a boring goes on a bed stuff that you know he doesn't really believe in anymore so I can't talk about probably better than I died but now I think that should the you you got a human side the matter help tough you pay and I think ah I was I became a much better person on television on the project after doing that shown in the jungle that's why I got such a lot of affection fees day when I have always been telling everyone feels how much I love you and people always like you say at of context I read the news bit so they they he clips of you going on around about People and you know they, they decide that you just imagine imaginably and you know and not likable but I think there's always a glint in your eye when you go on those rants and you know exactly what you're doing well. I never say anything I don't genuinely believe like I always try and seize on that little piece of audio that you can give Peter a hard time or wind up while lead or make carry laugh. Yeah, you're right. I always just feel for people who pin themselves as a contrary and I include you in this day. But anyone who says my whole my whole stick is to mess with me. Heads and say the thing that's gonna upset people and I think we don't you don't have to say that all the time I know that might be your brand and there are so many people in the media and people I mean Michael has made himself this. I'm married at first sight Steve you wouldn't have known better a few episodes ago. He really enjoyed stirring the pot and upsetting everybody. He pinned himself as a villain as well and and sometimes I think that has to be nuanced in those characters as well like you said, You're not that person. you don't have to be that person all the time. Andrew Bolt doesn't have to be that person all the time. There are a lot of people who don't have. To be that, but yet they kind of trapped in a in a cage of their own, making. Feelings are hurt We saw yesterday, he was saying that Hayley had a big heart and was very nurturing and so now he's very bruised by the fact that she's gone and marked on with another man and I just think the way that he has articulated that behavioral what he's done to deal with his heart is pretty unforgivable.
