ALERTA FRIENDS:
Due to the raids and subsequent eviction—landlords are repeatedly turning away many of the Denver raid survivors even though they have the finances to afford moving in.
THIS IS WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP.
...If you have a living situation that can house either: 2 adults and a baby, or 2 adult men, please contact us as soon as possible.
Despite feverish efforts and the financial means to contribute, they are facing houselessness.
On the 57th anniversary of the March on Washington, a crowd of 250 gathered in Civic Center Park. We sold some books, handed out some anti-police pamphlets, and... talked about communism with folks.
After a short march to the District 6 police station, protestors shook the temporary fencing around it a little. Denver Police drove us back with lots of pepperballs and teargas.
Then 30 militia-type fascists with shields, helmets, and batons approached from the opposite direction. We had heard they were coming.
Cops quickly wedged themselves between us, with their backs to the fash, of course. They formed a riot line and forced us back toward the Capitol, firing more pepperballs intermittently. We never saw the fascists again after the cops came to their rescue.
