I decided to go to NEU for My Masters in Engineering Management while working full time and it is probably the most disappointing experience ever. They advertise these options for certificates and all... of these awesome classes that seem interesting. I go there expecting to be able to take some of these classes that I felt related to my job perfectly and get one of these certificates too only to find out that 2 out of these 3 classes are not even offered and that one of them is not available after 5. The worse part is that the majority of the other options are also not available after 5. Oh the low blow is that I can't even get this certificate that was so appealing to me because I have top take 4 of theses electives that are no available to me because I work 9 to 5. If you want to go to school while working this is not the place for you. My friends who decided to go to BU are way better off and are actually getting an education that is worth their money. Sadly this University boasts about it's marine science center in Nahant, where it has pumped warm sea water into a sensitive marine habitat for years, without any research, or concern as to the impact... this has had on the marine environment. Now the University wants to more than double the amount of intake and outfall in Nahant, again without any environmental analysis or impact study. Northeastern is not a true marine science research facility. This is an organization with concern only for increasing student enrollment, in a beautiful coastal setting. Northeastern has no regard for the impact on Nahant's marine environment. See More

I'm so happy to see the positive impact which Northeastern continues to have on the Boston neighborhood around it.

From the complete reconstruction of Carter Playground to the thousands of new unde...rgrads who will be moving into Roxbury and supporting locally owned businesses it's great to have NEU as a neighbor and I'm proud to be an alum. See More

Barry Bluestone, a professor of political economy at Northeastern’s School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs who served as the school’s founding dean from 2006 to 2012, participated in the January 31... installment of the series, which focused on “Challenges Posed by Economic Inequality & Stagnation” and also featured progressive journalist Robert Kuttner.

On Monday, Northeastern’s School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs posted a video of the two-hour event to its YouTube page, near the end of which Bluestone shared his fantasy of seeing Donald Trump leave the presidency, either through impeachment or death.

Barry Bluestone is a disgrace to your university and the people of the United States. We live in a Democracy. President Trump was elected as our President and as such we should all show respect for ...the office and the person whether you agree with their policies or not.. Get back to the basics in education..... See More

Their rolling admissions policy is just an excuse to rip off candidates. I have applied to several universities but never had the experience of being rejected on the same day I submitted my applicatio...n. It is not possible to evaluate an application so quickly and make a decision. Their program was probably full but they kept on accepting applications just to make more money. And afterwards didn't provide any feedback related to the decision nor replied to my mails. Despicable behaviour! See More

I loved the experience I had through campus and really hope my son will attend it. I don’t think the review of this great University should based on an act of one person and disregard all the other things. See More

Get your people in line. We of the rational "not left" can see through your far left insanity. This is another school off of our list. You used to have such a great reputation. At one time Northeastern University had a stellar reputation, but because of the actions of your economics profession and founding Director of Northeastern's Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional, Barry Bluestone, I am sure your standing has been diminished. One of your professors announcing in a lecture of wanting our President, Mr. Trump dead on January 31st, is unexceptionable. Professors and teachers do shape students' minds and should be held accountable for their actions. Barry Bluestone's very strong personal views on illegal aliens being treated as American citizens and given all rights, has spilt over into the lecture hall. It is telling his impressionable students it is perfectly acceptable to only obey the federal laws they agree with, which I believe smacks of teaching anarchy. I'm sure his comments of wanting the President dead and personal views on anarchy have peppered other lectures too. Professor Bluestone actions are very serious and should have equally serious consequences, his dismissal. See More

Get it together NU. This “sorry not sorry” story of this professor pushing a left agenda passive aggressively through violent suggestions is disgusting. It’s good you took it down but please insist th...ese professors teach a fair representation of right and left views. It sickens me that brainwashing is running amuck in college with very impressionable minds at attention. See More

I can't believe that you haven't fired Barry Bluestone yet. The very idea that one of your professors can get away with stating he wishes the President dead is totally unacceptable.

Please do the r...ight thing and terminate this person's employment. See More

Our list of universities to which our children will apply continues to diminish. We don't raise them to dwell on the death of those with whom they disagree. We raise them to think independently; to be... seekers of truth; agents for positive change; and future leaders in their fields of endeavor. The fact that Bluestone remains as an educator at your university, after his recent egregious public comments, tells me you lack proper vetting; have low standards; condone close-minded, partisan conduct; and have little regard for fairness and open acceptance of varying ideologies. Shameful! See More

If you, the administration at Northeastern University, actually believe that you can distance yourselves from one of your employees by claiming that his words do not reflect the opinions of the univer...sity itself, you are completely mistaken. Professor Bluestone made his remarks in his role representing the university. You still gave him the platform with which to speak and deleting the video does nothing to change that. I am, however so glad that Professor Bluestone clarified that he’d simply like to see President Trump (the duly elected President of the United States) dead from “natural causes” and was not advocating violence against the President. That will, hopefully, spare him a visit from the Secret Service. It doesn’t, however, make him a better human being or intellectually superior, as left wing fanatics often believe they are. The truth is quite disturbing: when a left-wing fanatic doesn’t get their way, they make threats, they destroy property, they assault people, they wish death on those with whom they disagree. There is no “tolerance” for opposing viewpoints, as they often are talking about. They are very tolerant as long as everyone agrees with them. It’s humorous that the professor claims President Trump is the most dangerous man in the world because of his “lies and half truths” and because of his access to nuclear weapons. In the last 24 hours, the whole world has found out about yet another lie told by the Obama administration in reference to not knowing anything about the Clinton investigation. Former President Obama also had access to nuclear weapons. I’m curious to know if the professor also wished death upon former President Obama, or are those desires reserved only for anyone with a different political ideology?

Your school should suffer financially until you acknowledge that your employees are out of control and dangerous to the impressionable minds of your students. Your reputation is sinking and I’ll do my part in helping it sink faster.

Barry Bluestone, speaking at and apparently ON BEHALF OF [if he is still employed there] Northeastern University:
“Other times, quite honestly—I hope there are no FBI agents here—I wouldn’t mind seein...g him dead."
Then, backtracking (?)
"Would I kill him? No. And I normally abhor violence in all forms."
['normally' - but in Trump's case he will make an exception?]

The Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy and the Northeastern University have no problem being associated with a leading professor who wishes Republican politicians DEAD.

Northeastern University, employer of Barry Bluestone, that wishes our President dead. You are a vile and irrelevant institution, topped by any local community college or even mail-order degree mills.
