Household Hazardous Waste is......unused or leftover portions of products containing toxic chemicals. Any product that is labeled CAUTION, POISIONOUS, TOXIC, FLAMMABLE, or CORROSIVE is considered a household hazardous waste. DO NOT BRING explosive or radioactive materials, PCB's medical waste, syringes, waste from any business, compressed gas cylinders.
Proper Disposal is......extremely important. It is dangerous - and illegal - to discard household hazardous materials in the trash or down the drain. Instead, use the product as intended, or take the unused portions to the scheduled Household Hazardous Waste Collections Event at the Hancock County Complex on Longfellow Drive in Bay St. Louis on Saturday, May 29, 2010 from 8 am - 1 pm.
This collection event is funded by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality in cooperation with the Hancock County Board of Supervisors with assistance from the Cities of Waveland & Bay St. Louis, Chamber's Beautification Committee & GRPC.
