McCormack & Frum

John McCormack at the Weekly Standard is picked up by David Frum's website here:

I'm not surprised.  The Bob Woodward of his time (that would be McCormack) has spent the past week or so repeating talking points provided to him or lifted from other sites or going through a lawsuit O'Donnell filed against a former employer.  But he's not really a reporter.  He's a "regurgitator," if you will.  If I were of McCormack's sort, however, I would ask the boy such penetrating questions as:

1.  You seem obsessed with O'Donnell.  Have you obsessed over women before?  Have you ever been married?  Have you dated?  I hate to ask you personal questions, but they do seem to be your speciality.

2.   Have you ever filed a police report?  Has a police report ever been filed against you?  Did you ever smoke pot or break any laws?  Have you ever gotten a traffic ticket?  If so, for what?  Do you have any outstanding debts?  How much did you earn last year?  Will you release your college transcript?  Did you do poorly in any classes?  Did you ever cheat on any tests or copy anybody else's work?  Have you ever seen a psychiatrist or psychologist?  If so, for what?

3.  Have any of your family members ever had a run in with the law?  Have they ever been involved in any lawsuits?  Are they in debt?  How long did you live at home before finally moving out?  Did your parents pay for your college tuition, did you, or do you have student loans?  If you have student loans, are they paid off?  If not, why not?

4.  Have you ever lied?  To whom and about what?  Be specific.

5.  You've not reported very much on the long list of lobbyists and others who've supported Castle, his SEIU ties, etc.  The man has an over four decade public record.  Why is that?  Do you care about the issues that a senator actually will have to vote on?  Do you care about the nation's future?  If so, how so?   Here, check this out.

It might give you a good lead.  Do you care?  If not, why not?

5.  Who have you been in contact with at the Castle campaign, if anyone?  Who have you been in contact with at ISI, if anyone?  Have you communicated with any intermediaries?  Have you been in communication with any Republican Party operatives, consultants, or elected officials regarding the Delaware race?  If so, list them.  If not, from where did your information come?

6.  Do your views (and work) represent those of the Weekly Standard, Bill Kristol, and Fred Barnes?  Inquiring subscribers want to know.

Indeed, Inquiring minds want to know, for McCormack would fit right in at the Globe.  I see he posted emails between the two of us, although he didn't get my permission to do so in each case.  I don't much care as they don't really matter.  So why post them?  I did say "You're an ass" to him.  I stand by that, lol.  But it exposes the nature of McCormack's sleazy behavior.  Maybe I'll hire a blogger who will do the same to him, or Bill Kristol, or whomever I wish.  Hmmm, there's a thought.

Oh, I know, McCormack isn't running for office.  His private business is his private business.  But the point is that McCormack wants to influence the outcome of the Delaware GOP primary by the nature of his writing.  He won't.  Be he wants to.  I am confident O'Donnell is an imperfect human-being.  (As, too, is McCormack, whose tactics demonstrate that every time he sits behind his computer -- from where he obsesses over Christine O'Donnell.)  I am also confident that for those of us who believe in the Constitution and fear for the future of this country, O'Donnell would be a far better senator than Castle, and she's worth our support.  Castle had his chance.  He failed.

McCormack's endless regurgitating of what others whisper in his ear or chasing endless personal issues as if they will lead to some great revelation about O'Donnell that are not already known, is weird.  Indeed, McCormack seems weird to me.

It's a sad day when the Weekly Standard pays a guy to take this kind of sleazy pose.
