Today, on #InternationalWomensDay, the women of the GW Network of Enlightened Women are extremely proud to have the privilege to attend classes, internships, and jobs. We will not be striking, but rather fulfilling obligations we made to better ourselves and the community around us.
Like most movements proposed and promoted by radical, left-wing feminists, #ADayWithoutWomen targets a very specific group of women who share the same mindset, while leaving behind any woman who dares to voice her disagreement. A Day Without Women limits participation to wealthy women who can afford to skip work, skip class, and push all of their responsibilities onto to someone else.
Unfortunately, the selfish action of skipping work is negatively impacting other women around America. Nearby our home in DC, Alexandria public schools are shutting down because so many teachers are participating in today's strike. Due to this, women who could not afford to strike are forced to find last minute childcare or take off work to watch their kids who are out of school.
If a protest meant to help women is making every day life more challenging for other women, how can organizations meant to empower women support it? We certainly cannot. We are proud to stand with NeW chapters around the country and be #WomenAtWork!
